i have druqks

bljim on 2001-08-22 00:53 [#00023786]

yes, im listening to the entire thing right now. i don't
care if you believe me or not, i'll be buying it when it
comes out mid-october anyways. it sounds real nice; the
second disc is definitely more minimal, ambient in a way.
some tracks are quite short, some long as expected. though,
i think richard has created an interesting array of sounds
here. it's pretty hard to stereotype this album.

til october...

haha from space on 2001-08-22 01:05 [#00023787]

you don't have shit

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-08-22 01:26 [#00023793]

Yeah, so where did you get it?

(I won't be totally shocked if I don't get a reply to this
one)

bljim on 2001-08-22 04:09 [#00023880]

haha: "i don't care if you believe me or not"

Xanatos: some people i know on IRC hooked it up, that's
about all i can tell ya though :P (/me don't wanna get
anybody in trouble)

..this is definitely aphex though, and if not, it's damn
good whoever it is. anyway, the 30 tracks are about an hour
and fourty minutes total. as i mentioned there are short
tracks dotted throughout the second disc mainly. the third
track on disc two "lornaderek" is kinda funny, it has rich's
parents on the phone singing him happy birthday for his
28th:

(singing happy b-day blablah) "haahhah, happy birthday my
little son. my little 28 year old son, well you were born
by now because you were born about five o'clock in the
morning. um, but you have a lovely day; i hope your card
came." - rich's mom

Quoth from Berlin on 2001-08-22 04:37 [#00023886]

Interesting. But yet... I still do not even believe that
Richard is even making the album available... it's all big
one fucking conspiracy.

num lock from speaker telephone on 2001-08-22 05:15 [#00023907]

I guess we will have to wait till Ocktobar

- what a CUNT

geonime from geoworld on 2001-08-22 05:23 [#00023910]

Gawd, shit parents. If I was the mum of a son who'd done
achieved so much and made me so proud I'd make sure I visit
him every birthday without fail. Or maybe they live just TOO
far away.

oysterclam from brooklyn on 2001-08-22 05:26 [#00023913]

why not mp3iffy it?

i've given rich enough money.
i mean shit if the albums done why not release it now?
-clam

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-22 05:27 [#00023914]

give it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dosen't matter. if he got it off the net, then everyone who
wants it here will be able to get it within the week. shit
spreads so fast now... and if it dosen't turn up, no big
deal, as he was lying.

ChemX from Miami, FL on 2001-08-22 05:29 [#00023917]

bljim, why not share the wealth and upload to
ftp.theinfiltrator.net [anonymous]? ;o)

geonime from geoworld on 2001-08-22 05:31 [#00023919]

jim, if you are telling the truth, please e-mail me and sort
it out. You can trust me not to tell, I just want to hear
the album. I am good at keeping promises.

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-08-22 05:38 [#00023923]

Mabye this guy got it from someone who secretly recorded the
album from the planeteriam listening session.

bljim on 2001-08-22 09:14 [#00023977]

Syd: about what you said.. of course, stuff can spread quite
rapidly across the net. and who knows, maybe we'll all be
hearing more about this in a weeks time or whenever. but,
if you are going to have any luck, you will have to dig very
hard to find this shit. i honestly couldn't believe it when
i came across it, i wasn't expecting this at all. if it
turns up in your favour, good for you, if not, i still can
enjoy my "early" copy nearly two months before the rest of
the world gets to hear it.

geonime (& everyone else): the entire album is encoded at
320kbps 44khz stereo. and at 30 tracks, you can imagine it
being very large. it is actually just under 250mb. my
upload is crap anyway. sorry..

walt from europe on 2001-08-22 11:28 [#00024033]

bljim... what about the piano tracks from drukqs?

ChemX from Miami, FL on 2001-08-22 11:31 [#00024036]

Bljim, bummer I have around 400MB of space left on my server
that's just begging to be used (low traffic and high
bandwidth as well)...

bljim on 2001-08-22 16:02 [#00024144]

walt: yes, there are a few of those in the release. for
example "strotha tynhe" on the first disc is all piano as
well as "avril 14th". these are all very minimalist, like
the last track on disc two "nanou2". some of these songs
carry windchime and woodblock sounds too. it's hard to
describe really. i enjoy this more and more everytime i
hear it.

g0ppo on 2001-08-22 16:56 [#00024169]

hmm,

hevquip from an egren's coffee shop on 2001-08-22 17:03 [#00024172]

why dont you put up some samples somewhere.

rF from a warm place on 2001-08-22 17:07 [#00024175]

I would be happy to even hear 15 seconds of one of the piano
pieces on drukqs... Samples please!!!!

Transmission from Holland. Yeah! on 2001-08-22 17:10 [#00024176]

yeah....samples....

C'mon, you wanna share this, or otherwise you didn;t start
this topic

LrZ ;)

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-22 18:31 [#00024197]

I have disc 1 completed and will trade it for any of the out
of print BoC albums. I dont want any tapes, just mp3 format
please.

Archrival from NY on 2001-08-22 19:04 [#00024200]

YEES I got the out of print BOC on mp3
I can send em to you right now!

Wich tracks do you want?

Joyrex from joyrex.com, of course! on 2001-08-22 19:18 [#00024205]

There have been CDR promos of DrukQs around for a few weeks
now. It's totally possible for him to have the album.

walt from europe on 2001-08-22 19:45 [#00024207]

thanks bljim for the information... i cannot wait to hear
those pieces!

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-22 19:59 [#00024212]

What BoC release do you have?

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-22 20:02 [#00024213]

I'll take Catalouge 3, Closes Vol 1, Play by Numbers, or
Acid Memories. I have the rest.

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-22 21:10 [#00024235]

Archrival, i hope you're planning on sharing when you get
it.

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-22 21:12 [#00024237]

bljim, you really should upload it to someone who's up for
hosting it. i'd do it but i bet others have faster
servers... but i'll happily do it......

Byron from under your bed on 2001-08-22 21:14 [#00024240]

Yeah, really, share it. At least samples. Otherwise, stop
flaunting it on our faces.

pauwl from outer mongolia on 2001-08-22 21:16 [#00024243]

will you kids just relax and buy it when it comes out,
sheesh, the poor guy has got to make a livin you know,
tut.....

bljim on 2001-08-22 21:43 [#00024246]

as i mentioned earlier, my upload is crap. all i can tell
you is if you want to find it, you're going to have to do
more than ask on this message board. scour around, you'll
find something. honestly, i feel sad that the entire album
is out on the net so soon. warp and rich should have done a
better job keeping it under wraps. but, i still look
forward to buying it at bestbuy or wherever. it will be
money well spent. and if you guys do find the entire album
from now till it's official release date, and like it,
please go and buy it when it does come out. it's pretty
good imo :)

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-22 21:46 [#00024247]

you know the artist only makes about $1.50 of each cd sold?

aphex is lucky as he's the only person. a band like
radiohead - they split that 5 ways. record companys are
fucking theives

cre from reykjavik iceland on 2001-08-22 22:09 [#00024253]

that's why bands like radiohead don't mind their music being
available on the net. they make most of their money by
touring.

emmayaxx from germany on 2001-08-22 23:33 [#00024289]

radiohead souds also good, but i've just downloaded
"finlebuk" from the Drukqs LP and it sounds really great.
You can find it somwhere in the inner middle of the
audiogalaxy.

bljim: could you mail me the complete tracklist of the Album
?? I'm shure I'll buy it, but I CANT W8.

Byron from under your bed on 2001-08-22 23:47 [#00024290]

Ha! Finnlebuk is one of the many Aphex hoaxes that appeared
after the announcement of DrukQs. It is really called
"Bumblefuck" by The Flashbulb. He's not bad though, check
him out. I particularly enjoy his sonnets.

althepal on 2001-08-23 03:12 [#00024322]

Interesting indeed

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-23 03:32 [#00024330]

these prestles are making me thristy.

and i want this album. in mp3 format. on my computer.

grobe from the inner-outer on 2001-08-23 03:38 [#00024335]

As I type this RDJ is performing Drukqs for me...

...live...

...on my lap.

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-23 06:50 [#00024358]

TAPE IT! TAPE IT!

gwenrn on 2001-08-23 07:08 [#00024361]

i got disc 1. the piano tracks are indeed very minimal.

gwenrn on 2001-08-23 07:30 [#00024366]

getting disc 2.

Archrival from NY on 2001-08-23 07:34 [#00024368]

Sorrt I dont got those BOC tracks :(

guess I have to wait till the release date like all the
others :..(

Archrival from NY on 2001-08-23 07:37 [#00024369]

I meant sorry not sorrt...

BLJIM!!!!!!

COULD YOU GIVE US A REVIEW WITH DETAILS!!!! TELL US HOW MANY
PIANO TRACKS ARE THEY ARE THEY GOOD ETC......

GIVE US A TRACK BY TRACK REVIEW PLEASE (I know that everbody
wants it, that will keep us until the release date)!!!

gwenrn on 2001-08-23 07:46 [#00024371]

lornaderek is simply a recording of richard's parents
wishing him a happy 28th bithday, oh and they hope he got
the card.

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-23 07:49 [#00024374]

The first disc has a nice balance of fast and slow trax.
The piano works are a bit dry, very Erik Satieish but slower
if you can imagine that. The highlights are track 2 and 6
for sure. High energy breaks w/ those sick sounds only Rich
can provide. Id love to give this to a rare BoC collecter.

gwenrn on 2001-08-23 07:49 [#00024375]

avril 14th (one of the piano tracks) is simply the piano
part of Mt Saint michel mix which comes at about 2:19.

gwenrn on 2001-08-23 07:50 [#00024376]

now that i think about it, mt saint michel is a mount in
france, and avril 14th means april 14th in french, that's
interesting.

r3fl3x from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-23 07:50 [#00024377]

5is6: long time no see.. whats up?

This album stuff is weird.

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-23 07:50 [#00024378]

Mt Saint Michael Mix is the same track as Monkey Drummer for
those of you who own it

5is6 from +-=0 on 2001-08-23 07:51 [#00024379]

what up R3phl3x. Im working on disc 2 as we speak. Spoke
to Richard about 2 hours ago
