OK, my Windows Media Player whenever I try to open any of my mpeg files it says "Conecting..." at the bottom forever. I've tried to watch them with Quicktime but it can only handle AVI files when I open an .mpg file I can only hear the sound with a blank white picture, sometimes not even that. Second thing is my Winamp. Whenever I open it, it scrolls 1 by 1 to song 102, and during the time that its scrolling slowly I can't put any song on, or anything. I have to wait every time I open it 3 minutes to play a song, and after that if I try to play a song before #102 it slowly scrolls up to 102 and plays that. I tried reinstalling it and it didn't fix it WTF is wrong with it? I would have tried reinstalling Windows Media Player but I don't know how to do it. Anybody know what to do about these problems? well for audio, i use music match jukebox www.musicmatch.com its pretty good. i had a lot of problems with winamp too. but i have friends who love it so ... shrug... |

I dunno. All I know is that windows media player is horrible, I use it when I have to. to play DivX formatted stuff. When playing AVI format {AVI is horrible as well, really bad sound compression} you need to "Doctor" the sound, its an option you can do to fix the movie into a makeshift mpeg file. Shitty way to do things. Winamp is what most people use, i used to use it too. But now I use what came with my computer, and iam convinced it is a superior mp3 application! For sure it is. You can organize it however you want. LIke a folders ALMOST but a lot cooler looking, its all chrome/silver wtih clear buttons its iTunes. Macinstosh stuff. ARrange it in Albums, Artists, Songs.. Singles.. Eps.. whatever! WEll I Dunno my only adviced to you is erase the program, search for the preferences and delete those as well, and re install a newer version, thats all I can tell ya! |

reflex 2 things: What's the name of your program (that came with the computer)? How do I uninstall Windows Media Player, and once I do where do I reinstall the latest update? |

Xanatos: what I have for my computer you cant get unless your running a MAC. Or.. MAYBE LINUX. Hmm... But ahhh.. do a search on your computer, take EVERYTHING that has to do with Windows Media Player and throw it away, including the prefs. Go on the internet search for a download and youll find is really easily. Install and there you go. What type of things do you want to play with your WMP? |

Use quicktime player for that..... geez man Windows Media Player is horrible stuff...... its one of the worst ones, cause it has a really really bad compression rate. Sux |

I JUST got a full version of The Fast And The Furious on my computer...... hahahaa and its not even out of the theatres here! hahah. And yeah, I needed to use a plugin DIVX1.10db for my Windows Media Player and it SUX ass.. but the movie works! |

I Fixed Winamp by deleting and reloading my playlist but I can't get Window's Media Player to work! How can I install a new copy of Windows Media Player? or Is there any other programs I can use to watch mpegs? (Realplayer Crashes and Quicktime gives me sound but a white screen) |
