Last Sunday I bought "The Man Machine" by Kraftwerk (1978).
Well friends, I'm finding it really superlative, i'm really
surprised that in 1978 they played a so beautiful electronic
music.

get the Senor Coconut album, all kraftwerk covers done in a
Spanish stylee, great stuff.
I know what you mean though Woofer, Kraftwerk where genius
in their day.

'Computer World'(1981),is supposed to be their ultimate
release,and my personal favourite.

Others worth considering are 'Electric Cafe'(1986) and 'The
Mix'(1991),although others prefer their 60's and 70's stuff.

Nah, their best stuff is easily the first 3 Kraftwerk
albums

Kraftwerk 1 - amazing semi-acoustic brain odyssey

Kraftwerk 2 - Intense proto ambient spunkyness

Ralf and Florian - Their finest moment

those old albums... from like Radioactivity and back...
don't they sound very dated?

I haven't dared buying them because of that...

Computerworld sounds great though...

hehe....you'll soon be totally addcited to KW, mate...

Man Machine is supurb but Trans Europe Express is even
better to my mind...

but all their shit is timeless...can't thing any other band
that come close to Aphex/AE/SQPR/PanaSonice in terms of the
sheer mastery of their sound...

Plus they make me laugh...they are so very ironic at
times...so much for their un-human image....I think many
miss the humour in their aesthetic...

Got a couple of books I can dig out if you wanna read about
em...should be still available on Amazon....

Acidophilus, those pre-radioactivity albums sound so
amazingly fresh and new, its their man machin, computer
world stuff that sounds dated, still brilliant though, but
dated. When i first heard Kraftwerk 2 i was pissing myself
laughing it sounded bang up to date and beyond, this was in
1994. Sounds a wee bit like Leafcutter John, now i think
about it. But just go for it, you will not regret it.

Dont forget Autobahn, 22min long and just so lovely.

The live album Concert Classics is kind of nice, there is a
~10min "pause" where you just hear some synthloop and after
a while someone says "excuse us, our drummachine is broken,
we will fix this as fast as we can".

Wir laden unsere Batterie
Jetzt sind wir voller Energie

Wir sind die Roboter

Ja tvoi sluga (=I'm your slave)
Ja tvoi Rabotnik robotnik (=I'm your worker)

Wir funktionieren automatik
Jetzt wollen wir tanzen mechanik

Wir sind die Roboter

Wir sind auf Alles programmiert
Und was du willst wird ausgeführt

dieses Album ist das größte

When I first heard "The Mix" I shit my pants, even though it
hasn't dated quite as well as some of their other albums.
Who makes albums that good anymore? No-one.
