anybody else heard this ridiculous story about British
Telecomm, wanting to charge Internet users everytime they
click on a link..because supposedly they invented the
clickable links...
needless to say the US courts threw their case out the
winda...

Seriously though whilst Tim Berners-Lee (the guy generally
credited with the internet) didn't actually create the
internet, what he did actually do was create
hyperlinks. Don't know where BT got the idea tha tit was
them, I don't think he was working for them at the time...

No, Berners-Lee was working for the CERN research center
when he developed the first web server and browser.

I think Vannevar Bush is credited with inventing hypertext,
links, etcetera, back in the 1940s.

Doug Englebart (inventor of the mouse) developed the first
working hypertext system and Ted Nelson coined the actual
term back in the 60s.
