Hiya
This is where I pluck up the courage to talk of my past
(again).
The part where I was mad keen Too keen some might say, on
Pink Floyd and Ozrik Tentacles and would sit with the telly
on without the sound
More mind bending esperience you couldn't hope to find!
So come on own up I can't be the only one. :-\

Yaaay The Ozrics are great !
I wouldn't change the music to the Shining though. The
combination of Berlioz,György Ligeti,Krzysztof Penderecki
and, of course, Bartók is intensely errie, stressing and
towards the end totally overwhelming !! Not the kind of
music you want to listen to while driving at night !

I agree, the music actually used in The Shining is great -
As is the music in all of Kubrick's films (that I can think
of)

"I'm a simple city boy
With simple country tastes
Smoking wild-grown mari-jo-wana keeps that smile on my face
Depending on my mood, mood....

Listening to my system, just the other night
Watching my TV with the sound turned down"

this movie was so GOOD, i hope the 'remake' of manhunter NOW
known as RED DRAGON (the original name of thomas harris'
book) will hold up.

imo hannibal was watchable, however lacked the original FIRE
that made SOL so good. perhaps it was the chemistry between
antony and julianne that didn't quite hit the right note.

anyhow.....i'm a HUGE fan of ralph fiennes and i look
forward to the MOVIE and the SOUNDTRACK to the prequel to
his movie!!

The remake certainly sounds interesting as it *SPOILER!*
starts off with Hannibal's capture, which isn't in the book
OR Manhunter. I have faith in Norton and Fiennes to nail the
characters, the book is so strong that even Manhunter was
watchable, although it wasn't to my taste at all really.

I totally agree about the lack of fire in hannibal. Imho it
was due to the fact that it was totally over-hyped and SOL
was a hard act to follow. Also Julianne Moore is no
substitute for Jodie Foster.

Red Dragon could be quite good. I'm a big fan of Edward
Norton and Harvey Keitel is good too.

What's all this about ralph ?

ralphe fiennes plays the RED DRAGON =0)

ohhhhhh man is harvey keitel in that movie too.......hold
smokes i'm there FIRST day then. he's an absolute MASTER!!

i agree Jar Manhunter was watchable....i'd read the book
several years before both movies were made, and so i knew
what the whole story was.

i think harris just put out hannibal in a rush to make the
movie. the characters and the settings just didn't flow as
well and weren't as well thought out as SOL.

I dunno... Harris is a notorious slow writer... I think each
of the Hannibal trilogy have a different feel to them,
although Hannibal IS markedly different. It's a comfortable
read, but I think Dragon is the best book yet Lambs will
remain the best film.

yesssssssss youuuuuuuuuu

you of course aren't his twin.....i'm sure you have your OWN
character! but yes.....i have this urge to call you
MCCLOUD...ahhahah j/k

jar.....i preferred SOL as a book and of course ONE of the
best movies cos it stayed true to the BOOK. i read Red
Dragon after reading SOL...eheheh a bit backward, but still
just an amazing character that harris created!
