thx 1138 is a classic recycle: its about a future society that lives in an underground compound... and all the people are heavily sedated ...and things like love and individuality are outlawed... thx1138 is the name of the main character who gets in trouble for not taking his medication and falling in love.. it was actually lucas' first movie... and is the origin of the name "THX" for his sound company |

"thx 1138" was first made as a short film by lucas when he was in college. the short won manny awards. later "thx 1138" was made into a feature film with help from coppola. when it first came out in the 70's not many people understood it, and from then on it has been recognized as a si-fi cult classic. spawning other films such as 2001 oddesy and blade runner |

1.: the short film is only 15 mins and never made into VHS format 2: the feature film is 89 mins and is only avaliable in VHS format "NOT" DVD also when the feature was first made Warner Bros made lucas cut 10 mins out. but after the succsess of starwars george made W.B. put the extra 10 mins in the video |

yeah...i've seen the short film it was based on.. kinda odd..but in a good way...i remember it focusing more on the constant radio chatter of the compund as thx escaped |

Buy more and be happy." its one of my favourite films. the ending is wonderful: *SPOILER* the robots stop following THX because his chase has gone overbudget. pure genius. and the white open prison - pure class. shit thing is there isn't an OST available of THX 1138 - Lalo Schifrins music is wonderful, nice electronics. |

It´s great film! A dvd-release is planned for 2004 I´ve read....haven´t seen any of that yet though. |
