Typical "anti-mainstream"-comments, but hey: children need something else than Pokemon... I like Spielberg and I'm proud of it. But he dosen't beat Kubrick, Jackson and Cunningham. |

george lucas came up with the stories and produced them. spielberg directed. i'll have to go with the probable minority here and say that spielberg is excellent. |

Spielberg has Duel, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Arc and the first 1:45 of Minority Report. Everything else is pretty ho-hum. I think John Williams over-blown, pompous scores have ruined a few for me as a result. |

Yeah he's ok. Saving Privat Ryan had some great war scenes , very realistic. I like details like when the tanks fire into a building there is no silly hollywood explosion but a inferno of dirt and smoke that makes it imposible to breethe and see. One of the things that i don't like about him though is that he is to sentimental , it always ruins his movies. |

Spielberg is an amazing talented director and i'd put him up there with Kubrick! jaws was ahead of it's time....close encounters......ET......Indiana Jones.....and for me his masterpiece Shindlers List! lets not forget his collaborations with george lucas as well. just because his movies made HUGE dollars hollyweird shut him out of major awards until Schindlers List, how surprising.....NOT. |
