This sort of problem is often caused by tarnish, especially when the equipment is located near a large body of salt water. Check both ends of your computer's network cable. You should see small copper contacts. Copper oxidizes easily and can become tarnished. Carefully clean the copper with a mixture of baking soda and water using a small toothbrush. To a lesser extent tarnish can also affect your modem's performance. A diluted hydrochloric acid solution is best suited to clean the modem pins. |
