seems most people here really dislike this track.
I think it works quite well if followed by qkthr..
maybe he shouldn't have made it a track - does make it kind of pretentious.

Yeah it could have been sampled on to another track. But Richard is quite pretentious anyway.

i remember seeing a pic of rdj in a magazine just before drukqs came out... it was a pic of him playing live and the caption said something about "richard jamming out lornaderek live" or something... so when i got drukqs, i specifically went for that track, and you can guess my reaction... i couldn't believe what a bunch of dopes that mag was... they just picked a title that sounded good to them... but it IS funny to imagine rdj playing that track live (tweaking some knobs real fast).

um i quite like the track..right where it is..as interlude so to speak...dont see where it could fit the pretentions though..it sounds kinda earnest and honest peek into his private life..i.e. the opposite of pretentous

It just shows a little bit of personality. Richard is the only idm-artist i know that sometimes shows us his personality (unlike alot of other genres, where the lyrics seem to come straight from the singer's diary).
It's in tracks like Ventolin, trying to make us feel what having astma is like, putting his brothers tombstone on the girl/boy ep, the mummy mix of CTD. And probably loads more that aren't as easy to figure out.
Lornaderek fits in perfectly with that tradition. It's not pretentious at all if you ask me, it makes him a little more human... i really like the track :-D And like you said yourself, musically it also fits very well as an intro to the next song.

It's cute and harmless, I guess... most of that album is pretty cold and humorless, unlike Come to Daddy/Windowlicker/RDJ... so it's a weird little break...
