I've been working with a mate lately on a few tracks.. I
think they're slowly getting better.
We've called ourselves Methium for now.. and the track I've
put online is titled Rumblehum.
Please take the time to listen and post your comments on the
track here.

listened to it!

I quite liked it. liked the sounds, the way you're not
afraid of using textures. nice ear for detail.

overall it does get a bit boring, I guess. it could use
something to make it more dynamic.

give a listen to some of my stuff. after hearing your track,
I think you'll like it:

Thanks for that qrter,
I do agree with you that the track is a litte boring, I was
just going for something really quite ambient though. I have
other stuff with a little more to it, though I'm still
playing with them.
Just need to go around and record a few more household
sounds I think.

Listened to your stuff too, I enjoyed them.. what do you do
for samples yourself, generally?

Doug

BTW, is that your face squished on a scanner for your image?

My image is also done like that, only just my hair.. doesnt
show up well shrunken tho..

I use everything I can get my grubby little hands on.
just taking random cds out of my collection and sampling
bits.
sometimes it helps for me to pick one piece of music and
make kind of a deal with myself to only use pieces out of
that track. it sometimes helps to limit yourself.

on the track 'moeder' I used one snare-hit and built the
whole track out of that (and tons of effects ofcourse..).

no, its not my face, its the face of a friend of mine ( a
girl.. well, sex sells..).

we were at a computerclass and got bored so I asked her to
squish her face on the scanner and she happily obliged.

Haven't really thought of grabbing stuff from my cd's yet..
though I might someday.
I like the idea of creating tracks out of general household
items and a microphone.. thats my challenge for now.
Getting a bass guitar from a mate very shortly.. and once I
buy an amp for it.. well....

hexane.... your avantar is tops! I loved that plaid vid.
Also the one with the kids, and they go online and build the
ray guns. Great stuff
