So her I am minding my own business, trundling my shopping
trolly in that null space that you place yourself in while
shopping on the gleaming surfaces and techicolour
surroundings that are the supermarket in order to avoid
going into a paralytic fit and the next thing I know, I am
humming along to the the MUZAK

first they play THE RIDDLE-Nik Kershaw
then they play SHOUT-Tears for Fears then they play REFLEX-
Duran Duran

I looked around embarrassed at chiming along along to the
freaking MUZAK, but the world hadnt come to an end, those
around me continued shopping in their own null spaces...so I
just shrugged continuing humming and trundling the trolly
about

pretty scary..

flea, best thing to do is to NEVER go shopping without
wearing headphones and a walkman crancked up to 10 with some
ae/afx/whatever..

but then again.. there is something cool about muzak.. its
hypnotic effects are creepy..

that's my point..all of those sounds I liked as a
kid....does everything become acceptable MUZAK fodder in
approx 15-20 years time? I mean I might have been
hellucinating but I am pretty sure I heard Blue Monday
playing on there on of those days...

Klaus Wunderlich!

I just remembered that name. I once recorded a cover by him
of 'summertime' (the Gershwin one) on organ and it ROCKED!
sounded really cheesy but it had SWING.

he did a lot of that organ kind of stuff in the 70's, and
there you go: muzak.

OMG!

just had a look on slsk, and he's done a cover of Shaft!

hmm..I mean isnt a lot of stuff on Warp /Rephlex engineered
as kind of cheesy muzak leaning caricatures..I mean so of
Global Goon and Jimi Tenor could be slipped into a Muzak
playset without raising an eyebrow...
