I've just finished my first proper ambient song. It's as good as Radiohead's Treefingers, but not much better. Any tips on making ambient music?

tips for ambient. i have to say, i listen to a fair amount of ambient while in traffic (mostly selected ambient works of any vol.). as i have mentioned before, i live in miami, and there is some horrid traffic here. now, think of the opposite of traffic, sound and feeling wise, does that make ambient? i think so. there is a GREAT ambient song you may want to hear, that is a perfect example of what i am talking about. it is called Funky Tiste, by Mouse on Mars. a few others to hear are Hi Court Low Cut by Mouse On Mars, and Iberia Eterea by Biosphere (i really love this one for traffic jams, and over all pandamonium). Now i list these songs, because, i really think to make good ambient, you must know good ambient. i went to art school for four years and that is how they teach art, to make it is to know it (talent helps).... i don't know if i have helped.........
