Agree on Amelie there....I give it 4/5...but it lacked
something for me to give it 5 thumbs up!

Completely disagree on this little I Hate Fight Club cult
that appears to be forming, best Hollywood film in a while.

American Pie...God what a fucking let-down! I expected
something I could relate to maybe just a little...but no..it
was absolutely shit! It should have just been based around
Jim's Dad!

I think the problem with some films, is that they get hyped
too much. This I think kills off how good the film is,
particularly if a films marketing is better than the film
itself!

agree w/ jedi chris. I think sometimes they blow half of
their budget on marketing....

well, a big problem in the current Hollywood industry is the
underrated role of screenwriters. writers are seen as a
necesarry evil, a tool.

that sucks. a lot if shit film are shit because of the
horrible unimaginative scripts.

all the art world darlings raved about it at the time, they
said it was "a defining moment in a post war 90s culture".
What do they know anyway.

>"the shining

maybe 20 years ago was good"

What the FUCK ever man. I think some poeple are just saying
shit to be controversial.

The Shining is still and always will be, one of THE most
creepy movies ever made. And that soundtrack, jesus man,
that shit is amazing.

AI had the makings of an interesting little film then
speilberg went and covered it in his joy juice. Oh and I
fucking hate that kid !

American Beauty was a piece of shit too. Only good thing
about it was Mr. Spacey and unfortunately no matter how good
Kevin is it aint enough to save the film.

PI was good and so was Requiem for a Dream. To say the RfaD
was totally over the top is to miss the point. Same again
with Pi's camera work.

RDJ's on Pi - "Why didn't they use a PC?" hmmmmmm.....

visually The Shining is incredible. first film to use a
dolly. the sound of the wheels on the boys bike is amazing.

well, any Kubrick is visually amazing.

the music is by Wendy Carlos - love the small electronic
noises. they also used a lot of Ligeti.
