Weird experiment which may be of interest

Tonight I performed a little experiment. I posted about
this on another board where me and friends of mine hang out,
and I thought it might be of interest to you guys so I'm
posting it here as well....

"Alright, so i did some goofing around tonight with my new
tools waiting for the sun to come down, and here is a
sampling of what I came up with...

Funky.wav

Here is how I did it. First I made a funky little drum loop
in Fruity Loops. Then, I exported the loop to .wav format.
I opened the wav inSpectrogramand made a spectrographic
image of the beat. I then took a screenshot of my desktop
with the spectrograph displayed, and loaded it into
Photoshop, cropping the image so that only the spectrograph
was present. I then loaded the spectrograph into
Coagula and produced a wav file from the
spectrographic image. Of course through this process there
was a heavy amount of quality loss and distortion... which
is obviously what I wanted otherwise I would have been happy
with just exporting it from Fruity Loops... Anyway... i
loaded the newly formed wav file into Cool Edit Pro, and did
some clean up on the scratches, squashed the timeframe to
the original 2.406 seconds, and layered my original loop on
top of it, creating a chorus effect with the distorted beat
and the original. Which can be found here....

Original

Distorted

I was bored....

can't d/l the wavs. says they've moved.

and you ended the 'original.wav' with a "-sign.

should work now, except for Original... which can be
found...

Well, that's cool. It's just a thing I did. I didn't think
it sounded that great, just an interesting experiment.
meh...

maybe you could do the same thing, only this time with a
whole track you made.

you could cut and paste the image in photoshop, too.
