I agree with Zeus on this one. I was thinking the exact same thing - more powerfull, more urgent.

he wrote it in mind for an orchestra, and the only thing that can sound right when you write for an orchestra, is an orchestra.
sure, there is some cool sounds in the original, but the true feelings come out in the orchestration

since ICBYD has the "edit" of icct hedral, has there ever been a full length version? i wonder how long THAT one is?

I have ICBYD and agree Icct is a great track, but I don't believe I've ever heard this 'glass' version. What's that one from? I have about 6 or 7 AT albums, but don't recall that song on any of them... though with his track naming "method", it's hard to tell. ;)

I think the production quality is better on the Glass, but the synth is cool on ICBYD. Hmmm, I'll go with them both.
Here's a tip: Think of your scariest moment while listening to the ICBYD version. It makes you relive it again!

mm.. that would be the period when I was having massive panic attacks.. I was kind of weirded (weirded, not wired) out of my head, had 'wax the nip' on repeat and was reading Harry Potter & the philosophers stone.
oh.. weird days..

mm in warpmart it says 'icct hedral' on the cd, no mention of Philip Glass. they don't have the 12" now, but I can clearly remember it saying 'icct hedral (Philip Glass orchestration)'. I think it says the same in the 'explore'-section here..

aw you poor guy. well the singles collection cd is ridiculously expensive - it's one of the few aphex twin releases i don't own. the donkey rhubarb cd ep is out of print but it can't be all that hard to find, i recommend you keep an eye out for it.

I like the ICBYD versions... the weird hisses and static or whatever it is reminds me of death or something. Feels like I'm trapped in a coffin, suffocating. And any song that gives me mental images like that is A-OK!

they're both good, probably the phillip glass orchestration is a tad better though... this track always makes me picture a vampire of some sorts rising from it's coffin then creeping around in the darkness looking for it's next victim
