Someone should run a spectrogram on merzbow tracks...theyre
pretty weird things and there might be designs in them no?
maybe some faces...

It's possible, although it's pretty easy to tell when a
sound will have a strange spectrogram, it tends to be
bubbly. i used to have this program that actually took jpgs
and converted them into sound.

i think it would ruin merzbow if he had any shit like that
in his music - its sposed to be chance music, like fucked up
broken jazz cross john cage with a crack habit and a
penchant for manga, kinda thing.

I don't think he does anyway... so i wouldn't worry about
it.

Vampire: No, this is a program that converts images to
spectrograms and plays it... it's supposed to be used so
blind people can hear what they're supposed to see but I
have a hard time believing it works. Here's a good place to
find some spectrogram free-ware...

I like Praat because it does all sorts of weird things,
although i don't understand all of how it works.

There's a link to the site to download the program on this
site. Check the Learn section, under FAQ, under
"windowlicker Hidden Faces"

Alright, here it is....

Coagula will let you make any size bmp into an audio
file...

Spectrogram will let you view the spectrum of any audio
file...

I have Coagula, don't bother with it. It's a slow, tiring,
semi-useless waste of programming and hard-drive space.

Not really, it's about 4 megs, and runs pretty fast, and it
works perfectly.
