is it just me, or does Papau New Guinea by FSOL sound ALOT
like Radio Babylon by MBM?

same drum sounds, same bass sounds

which came first?

:S

yeah, FSOL nicked the break from MBM....

As did a lot of people...

A lot of MBM was proto-jungle/breakbeat stuff (well before
the terms/genre were even thought up) & was a big influence
on 'Arkcore/breakbeat producers who came after...I don't
think Jack Dangers knew the effect RB would have in
time....

The Prodigy are another band who owe an awful lot to
MBM....

oh yeah...it was an original break by MBM not a sampled
breakbeat...they created it using drum hit samples &
multiple delays apparently...

I had all the individual tracks to PNG a while ago--I found
'em somewhere to remix them :D It was a FSOL site, if that
helps anyone who is interested.

FSOL put it out themselves as a "remix our song" contest, i
dunno if they ever announced the winner. maybe they just put
it out there for people to have. they plagiarize quite a bit
from that song - break from MBM and bassline from dead can
dance.
