After copying hundreds of minidisks for the last couple of
years, I decided to start purchasing some real cds again.
No need for more AFX, I've got nearly all of his work by
now.
So first on my list are Boards of Canada (I own that Skam
EP) and a band called 'Four Tet', of which I have one live
bootleg which sounds amazing.
Does anyone a) know a place with a (preferrably complete)
discography of either, and b) feel like suggesting the best
album(s) and maxi's to go for?
Much appreciated.

diego: sure I suggest that you pick up -

•Aquarius
•Beautiful Place In The Country
•Hi Scores
•Music Has The Right To Children
•Peel Sessions
•Twoism

I say this because... these are the ones I have, and they
are great!

Maybe it would be easier if I knew if there are BOC cds
which actually aren't worth the purchase. I know they are
brilliant, but my wallet won't allow me to buy dozens of
cds, so I definitely don't want anything less than
brilliant...

Four Tet just one guy? Okay, that's a start... :)

Additionally, let me also recommend you people a cd by a
Belgian guy called Anton Price. He's a drummer/programmer,
and apparently more or less well-known as a DJ too.
Since last december he has a debut album out (a real one,
not a mix-album) called 'The Collapse of the state vector',
and i personally think it has some very, very good moments.
The AFX/µ-ziq/Squarepusher influences are apparent, but
he's not aping them.

If you've ran out of ideas on what to buy next, this might
be something to consider.

(it would be very eccentric for most of you to have a
Belgian album in your cd rack - all the kids in the
neighbourhood will want to come have a look at it for sure!
You'll be the coolest guy in town!)

I went to Belgium on a school trip in 1997. We were staying
in a hostel, and one night a bunch of local teenage nutters
started throwing lit firecrackers through the open windows
of the dorms while shouting things like,"Show yourself!" in
hilarious continental accents. So I started shouting, "A
freeze is coming!" a la Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman &
Robin. This confused them..

eh...
Very bizarre things are happening in this place then. I
would never have known...

And yes, mr. Xanatos, we do make waffles.
All the time.
That and nothing else.
All of us.
That's what we do.

What? your still here? go make me some waffles bitch.

Mike on 2001-08-14 23:08 [#00021841]

Ok, I couldn't find anything by anton price on audio galaxy.
BTW sorry about calling you a bitch. I still want some
waffles though.

Where can you find boards of canada if you live in the U.S.
I can't find anything except music has the right to children
and that is prob my least favorite one. I have a lot of
stuff on mp3 but want the actual albums. I'm mostly
interested in online retailers you know of. Thanks

hi scores ep is still in print. in a beautfiul place out in
the country ep is also available stateside. maybe my
alltime favorite boc track is "eno test." it's one of their
really early tracks (i'm talking like early 90's) but i
don't know what it's on. in any case, find an mp3 of it,
it's well worth it.

Glass: order them off of a record company, or try
amazon.com, or even ebay.com
