yo yo,
yeah I've played Rez, I have it for the Dreamcast, excellent
game. It plays like Panzer Dragoon on the Saturn (or the
more recent Star Fox 64) and when you shoot stuff it makes
funky bleeps and so on :) The visuals are also very trippy
and awesome, it's great to play after a bit night out. Make
sure you like trance though!

i heard reviews of it, saying it was a very original game
and good if you liked the music, but there's only 4
levels... not much... -_-

it was praised because of its originality, but did only get
a very average note (11/20)...

It's like a fps on rails ie. you control your aim, that's
all...speaking of shooters, Ikaruga comes out in 2 weeks if
that means anything to anyone, 2.5D shooter heaven coming
up! :D

games are always getting more and more detailed, harder and
harder to write/design... so they do less and less levels,
and if there's nothing to compensate, the games are shorter
and shorter...

I have it!!! me and ceri jc talked about it alot on this
board. I have it for ps2 ( still didnt beat it yet cause
the last boss is so fuckin hard) But if you like techno and
orginiality its the game for you! Its soooo cool , very nice
visuals, very nice music. Its nice to see some dif games
commin out instead of the regular racers or shoot-em-up
shits.

Yes, it's one of my fave games. An acid trip of a game!

cool using sound as part of the strategy.... I havn't played
it and don't even have a playstation 2, (or gamecube or
xbonk)

most games don't allow you enough strategy, I like "acid
trip" stuff basically, anyone recommend other "acid trip"
stuff (even though I've never done acid)? Instead of plain
backgrounds and colors why not make them all flashing
rapidly and trippy/ hard to look at/weird. weird evolving
wicked moving patterns, not slightly controllable movies
basically like ocarina of time... that's hardly a vidogame

Marvel VS. Capcom 2 is the trippiest game, and is also an
absolute maserpiece.

Hmmm... Silent Hill is like a bad acid trip :)

kewl, thanks. been looking for something that can compare
with the GAMEPLAY of street fighter 2 (that was like chess
with strategy almost, heh heh) (as opposed to mortal kombat
which wasn't really that strategic (more about fatalties and
rapid leg sweeps) Some review said silent hill was a study
in psychological disturbance:)
F-zero was a sorta okay game for n64, but using this as an
example that can be made more "flashy" stimulating, why not
make the track have diagonal lines on it... then when you
fly past them it will be confusing since the lines will
slowly pan left. And the background should either have
totally weird interesting organized squiggly line patterns
or just flash in weird confusing patterns and stuff.

www.gamasutra.com is a GREAT site I found
ex. do a search for "strategy" there and read lots of
excellent related stuff (or any word that interests you)
