Which one? Maybe you notebook experts have opinions on the
IBM Thinkpad R32, if so, what do you think about it?

Thanks.

I got one because I'm studying to become a writer (of plays,
screenplays, prose, anything..) and I thought it would be a
good idea when I was about to buy my new computer to make it
a notebook (although it was quite expensive).

and I make music on it (soon to go LIVE!).

I'll be getting an R32 through a work rental deal in
sep/nov. I wished for the A31 or T30 as soon as I found out
it was going to be IBMs. Well, I'm also getting an IBM T750
17" TFT, port replicator, keyboard/mouse and a HP Deskjet
5550.

Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card yourself on
these things? The IBM R32 has a 16MB Mobility Radeon.
Sometime in the future I might want to upgrade to something
with more memory.

it's a lot harder to upg a laptop than a standard PC just
becuase there's no real standards...every builds these
things in their own way...

And due to size limitations, a lot of stuff is built
directly onto the mb so it's a good idea to do a lot of
research into exactly you wanna do with a lappy before
buying one....

If you'd asked me this morning if I had a laptop, I would've
told you my sob story about me lappy dying a few months
back...but for some weird reason I decided to plug it in at
work today and the it came back to life & booted up
fine...all hunky dory...100%...

Now how weird is that????...it's was definately dead so god
knows why it's suddenly decided to start working
again...current theories revolve around a mythical Laptop
Fairy...

Needless to say, I'm as CHUFFED AS F***!!!!...
