I just dled Six Pianos by him last night and its really good...although Piano Phase is better imo. Six Pianos has a nice melody to it...and is longer. Really good. Recommended listening. |

Ever heard Triple Quartet? The second track has some interesting guitar textures. I don't even like guitar that much, or what is done with guitar I should say, but this stuff is pretty interesting. |

Six Pianos. If this is the one I think it is It is possibly my favourite too. Could be six marambo's though. Come to think of it I love all Reich stuff. Anyone heard Steve Reich the early works? Especially the clapping song and come to that what about Alec Empires "sounds like" clapping song. Of those two in my opinion Alec Empires is best. Yea Steve Reich he rocks! |

I also really like Tehillim and Three Movements. The chorus arrangement on Tehillim is amazing. |

I've always assciated the six piano,s Six marambas? with Christmas. Now I'd like to be sure and say that this is not because I heard it at christmas and this -to me- makes that well more interesting. However memory is not one of my strongest mental functions. I have this really great cd simply entitled Minamilists or something. The cover is a big Turquois M and there's like nuts and bolts things in the picture too. This was the cd that introduced me to this form of music. |

listen to his early works, they're my favourite come out (to show them), and it's gonna rain manic speech loops seemingly going on forever put it on and turn down the lights so only one of your senses are working, guarenteed fuck up it really taps into your brain, makes you laugh and you're wondering why you're laughing :) |

Come Out is such a great track. You're garanteed to become disoriented by the 8 min mark. I didn't care for Its Gonna Rain mainly cause of its composition... Come Out is better in that regard. Its more set out. Its Gonna Rain is spastic. He had too many ideas he wanted to do with that song and it didn't come out that well. I love his phase stuff. Violin / Piano and all his other stuff... marimbas too. I wish he did a Trumpet Phase or accoustic Guitar Phase song. That would be cool. Or even human voices...simple words for each person but they'd all speech together...then someone would go out of sinc and then it would be chaos. Sorta like choral music meets Violin Phase... |
