does anyone here have an opinion regarding the latest REDUX
version DVD, over the original DVD release?
Why don't they just include "Hearts of Darkness" on DVD
too! that would be a good combo!

agreed, that would've been nice, but REDUX is nice too.

Never seen the original, but saw Redux when that came out.
Trippy.

well it was a re-release, they don't stay too long usually.
i didn't get to see E.T. this year either.

I caught redux on TV last week. I thought the extra footage
didn't really make the message of the movie more effective.

I usually prefer director's cut, but not in this case ...
It's still a very good movie in either form.

i never saw the original, but I saw the redux

it was very effective imo

the whole part with the girls giving their bodies for fuel
to get out of there was probably the most effective part for
me...

they were like catatonic from being traumatized.

god, i feel sad just thinking about that part

i own the REDUX version on DVD. i wish you'd seen it on the
BIG screen it was quite effective and i think you'd have a
different opinion.

i liked both versions, but REDUX just was just a little bit
betta. i always like seeing movies the way the director
meant them to be seen. it always adds and never takes away
from the film for me!

I think both versions of the movie are rather effective -
that's not what I'm saying.

"Redux" didn't increase the effectiveness of the director's
vision for me - the original was enough for this particular
viewer.
