Ok this might sound wierd...
but I cant listen to Boards Of Canada anymore.
They are my favorite band/artist, and I love all of thier work so much...
but I just cant listen to them anymore, because they make me horribly depressed. They are like, this point of perfection in my eyes.
There was a point where I listened to them nonstop everyday, just put my playlist on repeat... and I couldnt write a single goddamned song... let alone even get an idea.
So I stopped myself from listening to them.
After i quit for like a week/week and a half, I started getting my creative juices back... and since then, did a song, a remix, and Im working on another as we speak.
Now I am listening to just a few songs at a time, spaced out, so I dont get sucked into nonestop listening again...
Its bittersweet.
can anyone relate?
I heard that... shit... who was it... some famous group back in the day went and saw Jimi Hendrix play, and afterwards wanted to quit music, cause they figured "whats the point? theres no way I can even come close to that"
luckly they didnt and released great stuff...
but thats how I feel.

I don't like them in headphones either... but I can't stand ANYTHING in headphones.
And as for not wanting to listen to your favorite artists... yeah, I can see that. There's some songs that I absolutely worship that I won't listen to at all, don't want to spoil them. I think I've heard ''Julia'' from the White Album about 10 times in my life, I just don't want to listen to it... it's too good.
But I don't get frustrated at how impossibly great somebody or something is, I just want some songs to be ''unspoiled'' or some wacky shit.
I've also got this weird habit of listening to Vletmrx21 once a week, fighting the urge to have it on TWENTY FOUR FUCKING SEVEN.

BoC is gooooood, but their short 1 minute songs irratate me, that bugs me about Geogaddi.
Anyways, Ophecks, have you heard Plaid's remix of Vletmrx21? I thought it was a joke, untill my friend sended me it. It was REAL!
