yes, it looks absolutely amazing!!! I plan on owning all the
dvds, and all the soundtracks, and reading all the books
eventually... It's just amazing, and I just know it will
surpass Star Wars as the best Trilogy around in my books...

I also thought the movie was pretty damn good. Great
special effects, dialogue not too bad at all, and they
stayed true to the book pretty much throughout the whole
thing.
I must warn anyone who is thinking of buying it on DVD soon
(in the US at least), it will be released again in a month
tto two months with a R rating and 45 extra minutes of film.
Wait for this version!!

An excellent film, as was said before, one of the few good
"epic" films made recently...rivals braveheart.

I was pleasantly suprised by LOTR.. though I was already
glad Peter Jackson was directing it.

boy is my finger not on the pulse of this thread..

What seems like 4 hours of mawkish fay luvvies traipsing
around on hillsides with a ring enabling them to survive
'attacks' by clearly stupid beasts. The grand scenery is
impressive , but the characters alas, are dull . And what's
with the 'titanic' pipes at the end ? Even though the 'end'
isn't really 'the' end, I was thoroughly expecting Celine
Dion to rear up her butt-ugly head. Altogether now... "Every
night in my dreams / I see you ; I feeeeeeel you..... "

Has anyone seen French & Saunders piss-take of this film ?
Only ten minutes long and ten times as entertaining ... ;D
