I use an Akai MPC 2000xl, mixing board, Boss Dr. 770, Roland
JV1010, controller keyboard, 2 techics & dj mixer.

Native instruments has some nice software. There sampler
software Kontact looks amazing, or Reaktor. Never used it
though, it would probably take a while to learn to use most
of the functions because there are so many.

Fruity Loops seems pretty popular. Thats what I use as well.
It does have it's bad points, but its easy to get into. I
just got Reason but I haven't really checked it out yet.

I also play drums in a punk band. No gigs yet though, mainly
because we're shit.
