i frolicked with my kitty kots today and so i thought this
quote would be apropos today =0)

I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time
and money
talking about kindness to animals when there is so much
cruelty to men?" I
answer: "I am working at the roots." -

George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

heh... i didn't even make the zoom one, that was the work of
jedi chris

it's a totem constructed by the inuit people i think, but
i'm not quite sure what aninimimal it's sposed to be. the
cute fuzzy monkey is hiding behind it because it is very shy
=)

i have several rolls of pictures of totems since i've been
to ALAKSA 5 times, and i can't place the animal cos it's a
side shot. they are beautiful works of art, i dunno if i've
ever seen a monkey totem =0)

cool =)

i have several masks in my bedroom. one is of the buddha,
one from ghana, & two wedding masks from kenya (one is a
bigger, earlier replica, handcrafted by the craftsman whom
my dad purchased it from there in mombasa. it says "jambo"
on the back =))

i have a digeridoo in my room too. i think a lot of the
ethnic artifacts such as these are really cool =)

yipes.......i find masks of any sort to be rather
scary...like clowns. i'm sure they are pretty but having
something staring at me from a wall would not do for me.

digeridoo's are cool sounding, i wish i'd purchased one
whilst downunder, they were really inexpensive. =/

*kicks self*

*offers gauze for kick wound*

clowns are scary, can't argue that =/

not all masks are skeh-wee tho, some of em are quite
beautiful i find

my grandparents travel a lot, & sent me & me bro each a dij
from downunda a few years ago =)

some of these pieces of art are part of the reason i'm
interested in studying a lil bit of anthropology someday

pachi.....i agree not all masks are scary, but thats not the
point. it's the empty eyes staring out at you from the wall
thats frightening....tee hee

your field of study sounds interesting!

princo......i've missed more days than i've posted QUOTES
=0) i'm trying to be more diligent, but there are many days
that i'm not able to slap one on here!

i was wondering why anyone would've made a comment like
this
here is the reason
when mr. george t. angell was alive there were still plenty
of species, so perhaps if people would've started to take
better care for animals in that time, we wouldn't have so
little species left today

Oh! Oh! Oh! I have a good one, although I don't know who
said it...

'Life is like oral sex. One slip of the tongue and you're in
the shit'.
