Premature Balding

One of my best friends thinks he's going bald. It doesn't
look too bad but his hair is much thinner on top than it
used to be... His dad is bald and so are his grandparents
on his father's side but no from his mother's family is.
Just wondering if anyone here had any advice.. He's taking
it really hard. Could it be stress-related or some sort of
temporary thing? Anyone know any sort of treatment that has
actually had genuine results?

well, its happening to me
and my father is 50 y.o. and still got his hair
my grandfather is 73 and still got hair
other grandfather is 91 and has hair
im 27 and my hair is getting tinner on top
i think is because of all the bad food i consume-and perhaps
because of non healthy life style

my hairdresser adviced me to use ampoules-for stopping my
hair to fall out, but i stopped using that after a while

anyways it might seem silly to "normal hair" people because
we make a big deal out of this, but its really anoying

It's gonna happen to me to.
My father lost his hair when he was 25,and my brother, who
is 23 has already lost a lot of his.
that means I still have...3/4 years with hair.
I'll miss it when it's gone ...

A receding hair line isn't bad.. It's when you start losing
it in the back of your head. It's an inconsistency that
could understandably make a young male very insecure.

my father has a horrible comb-over... really really bad
comb-over, and he doesnt wash his hair so he can make his
dirty hair sick across his head and try to loop it around
his ear.... and he has a big pot belly... he is a salesman
who schtick is to make everybody feel sorry for him, he
whines like a pathetic bitch........ sort of like Homer
Simpson except he is not funny at all... no wonder i grew up
so full of shame...

.........so if i go bald, im goona shave my head
everyday.... does anybody know if you can get
anti-reflextive coating for your head, cause i don't want it
to be too shiny.

the balding gene is passed from ze mothers side of the
family ONLY, tis genetic's!

rogaine works (i heard) if you start using it before you
have MEGA hair loss, so in other words when you first notice
the problem. like any other medication you have to use it
diligently!

tell him to continue to brush/comb his hair cos this makes
hair grow. some men are under the impression if they don't
they won't lose as much, but your scalp needs to be
stimulated to grow hair.

also tell him not to stress out, cos that could be
contributing.

lastly.....tell him MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN shaves his
head.....and he hasn't done too badly in life! in other
words baldness is in....the COMB over is SNOT! =0)

hope that helps

I have seen some truly fantastic comb overs this month.
Dunno why, they've all been popping out with their
skillfully crafted deception. I find them fascinating =oD

rogaine is a prescription medicine. i dunno if you'll find
it sold 'over the counter' in europe. it may be. if you
don't ask your doctor for a sample/and or prescription!

and good luck

the silliest combover i ever saw was this guy at saw at the
grocery store, he had his hair meticulously combed from the
back forward over his totally bald top, and he looked like
Ralph Wiggum, the hair all spread out into bangs!!! i guess
this could always be an option.

There are lots of bald people on my mom's side. But my dad
is 50 and still has all his hair. I hope I don't go bald
too young, that would suck.

this may be an urban legend.....but don't wear too many
TIGHT ball caps like the one in your avatar.....that stunts
hair growth and so if you have the GENE that could be
contributing! =0)

just an fyi =0)

my mate has just started taking some prescribed drug for
hair loss. not too sure what its called, but it was actually
made for prostate cancer and one of the side effects is
rapid hair groath. it also fucks up your labeado, but
hey....he wasnt gettin any anyway.

i think you gotta get onto it pretty quickly though, and the
stuffs real exspensive. i'll find out what it is and post
when i get home.

Hahahahaha! I'll never be bald, my grandfather has long wavy
hair, and I have too much. If I DID go bald, I'd look
totally ridiculous, I just don't have the head and face
shape to look good with a big shiny orb skull.
