The CD? CDs can't be two-sided.

tim on 2001-08-11 17:22 [#00021081]

yah they can. why not?

infonation on 2001-08-11 17:29 [#00021084]

Shut up! That's why.

tim on 2001-08-11 17:34 [#00021087]

asshole.

dude. don't be such a narrow minded dick. where do you get
off telling me to shut up?

the layer of that is used to store data can be placed on
both sides of a cd. it works for dvds as well.

you should shit down and use your brain a little more.

No offence intended in thatlast reference; it was a Simpsons
reference. It means, "I don't know, and you're exposing
this fact by asking me!" I really can't remember the reason
that both sides of a CD can't be used. But I'm certain I'm
right. CDs and DVDs may look similar, but obviously they
are very separate 'kettles' of 'fish', "dude."

[Replace the first instance of the word "reference" with
"message"]

No, you can't write material on two sides of a CD. It has to
do with where the info actually lies in the lacquer -
actually very close to the 'top' of the disc - so in truth
it is easier to ruin the data by scratching the top of a CD
rather than the bottom.

Did that make any sense at all? No, thought not

Thanks for that. And Tim seemed so sure of himself, too.
