The movie was really scary for the fans of the game. It turned out to be everything we didn't want to see happen to it...
First off, Ramero was fired. I'd like to meet the jackass that made that choice.
2nd, Paul Anderson, a guy that makes 2nd rate movies, doesn't know how to pace/write/develop characters was granted the right to direct it. Its really sad, If the guy was soooo scary creative, why did he rip off everyone of GAR's movies? Every gag trick etc. What a slap in the face. b/c they weren't even pulled off, even credited right.
The commentary track sums the movie up in all...try listening to it...if you don't try to claw your ears out in the process...between 1/2 told stories, that ditz milla laughin like a drunken whoRe there was no real need to put it on the disc.
The only thing i liked about it was some of mansons scoring...although M/Beltr. is the man...updated zombie effects were ok, but too bad they didn't make them move/look a lil more. The T virus was created to make a Tyrant if i'm not mistaken...not a licker. 'real' jeers to CAPCOM :X tsk tsk on u

I refuse to watch that film and soil my pure feelings about that video game series. Love them madly, awesome soundtracks.
Mario Bros, Double Dragon, Streetfighter... tons of bad video game movies.
They're making a Max Payne film, I think. That series lends itself more to film, I think it could be pretty decent.
And I liked the first Mortal Kombat, but the rest were just ridiculous.

I liked the film, even more so is the sounds and tracks that Manson made a lot of which were not provided on the soundtrack. I'm wondering what the hell they are going to have in the director's cut.

100% agree w/ u ophecks...although all games lend themselves to films...it just depends on the directors/investors/producers. They always seem to fuck it up somehow...even though they're avid gamers...supposedly.

There were a few things I liked about the movie--the video game feel it had, the two hotties (Milla and Michelle Rodriquez), and the ending. But overall it was not very good. The CGI licker was absolutely horrible, and I wasn't impressed with the zombie dobermans, either.

hankyphex...read the credits; manson wasn't the only guy doing the score...he just really wrote themes etc. They stuck his name all over the thing b/c he controversial////////////sells more copies, although in a few years that won't be the case.
Marco Beltami did the bulk of the work.

Not of the Resident Evil games. I thought it had more of a FPS feel, especially like Half-Life. The way the set was layed out, etc.

It wasn't the perspective. Forget I said FPS, because basically all I mean is the sets in the movie (the office area of the Hive, the large room filled with various boxes and barrels where the train was, the train itself, etc) reminded me of Half-Life. What's funny about it?

i see what u mean man....u know that big room where the train pulled in and out of? and the dinning room scene were all of the zombies come out and the lickers are stored? and a few of the offices? were all shot in/on the same room. After knowing that it kinda takes away from the look... since u know where it was/how it was created
i personally love the cardboard cut out containers in the licker room too....they're real hightech looking ;) ;)

Just last year, Indian police concluded that a mysterious "Monkey Man," which instilled terror in New Delhi, was simply "mass hysteria" and a product of the city's collective imagination.
