The Business of Banning

In most of the other boards that I participate in, and in
the ones that I moderate, there is always an explanation in
a closed topic as to why it was closed (even if it's only
cut-and-paste from the "rules of conduct"). And there is
always an explanation if someone is banned as well.

That's a possible item of improvement for this board and
xltronic.

Inverted Whale I do suggest you read some of my other posts
that I posted where I said that I prefered the way this
board is being run as opposed to the absolute cahos of the
USENET..

oh there is definite hostility if you are continualy
encouraging me to leave the board...

alas it is not upto you..

but upto me..or the Moderators and the Webmasters

Tooting my own horn, I've locked two topics so far, and I
gave a paragraph explaining why it was, and what (insert
name here) could do to NOT get their topics locked. And the
other mods have done similar things, I remember Jand doing
it the other day. I don't see a problem here... unless maybe
I missed something.

But I agree with you in that we should give a reason and not
just say ''TOPIC CLOSED''.

I agree..I have almost always seen an explanantion of
sorts..other shutdowns are well pretty self explanatory..the
original post goes..wiggly wiggly whee doodle..and it's
followed by a lot of the same..

My post wasn't meant as a reply to yours, I would have used
the followup option if that was the case. It was directed
toward any reader of the topic.

I'm not specifically encouraging you to do anything more
than any other participant of the message board.

Next time I'll be more careful of my usage of the word
"you." Sorry about any misunderstanding.

I have been editing a book comprised of the experimental
data I've gradually collected over a 10 year period on this
subject. My working title is "The Snickle-Snackle Principle:
Evolved Manifestations of Tyranny in Democratic Systems and
the ethics of Banishment; a Contemporary Perspective and
Analysis"
