watmm posters are with their wack-ass way of typing...

You know those ov ww'itttz spok< I" ...

Did that sound bitchy?...I hope not...friendly competetion
is quite good for both sites...

"Flooding the MB" has a slightly different meaning over

Well it ought to be put in the news section. Not everybody
visits the MB...

Sorry, didn't realise there was a 2nd page, that was a reply
to message 50 in this thread...

The colors on the current WATMM board are horrendous, they
actually make me NOT want to read it. But I know new skins
are coming... personally, I really liked the Joyrex.com
tan/yellow/peach/whateveritwas color.

Eugh... am I the ONLY one who doesn't like that yellow
colour? What's with it?? It's here aswell!! Aaaarg, it looks
like spew!

I don't give a contaminated pile of poop what color a site
is fashioned with. For me it's about the info.

To me, watmm.com is rather poorly designed. Well, I like
how's the menu organized; but
- the page is very overflooded with shit
- those news on the right just repeat what's said in the
middle newsblock
- backgrounds sometimes are NASTY - the text comes
unreadable on RED background.

Overall: no fucking usability, an not enough classy to
forgive it. And YES, it loads veeeeeeeery long.

I think WATMM is a great site. The color scheme on most
site can usual be better, but most people couldn't construct
a site of that caliber without some small flaws.

DJ Buzz - the intended purpose of the right 'teasers' is so
you don't have to scroll down to read all the news for your
favourite artist(s), AND be able to jump to that section if
you wish.

I don't recall having any 'red' backgrounds...there's one
BoC one that is orangish, but the text is screened against
that. Sorry you don't like it - it's a work in progress
though :)

I appreciate all the kind words, and I really didn't want
this thread to turn into a analysis of watmm (especially on
Phob's MB) as I really don't think it's the proper place for
it. I do appreciate the input though, and I usually listen
to advice/criticism carefully.

Jand: Not ALL the info appears here first - but true, a lot
does - funny, because I try to post something as soon as I
hear about it, and then I come here and it's here as well
:)

One major difference is I POST the news, versus users having
to dig for it in the forums - hopefully Phob's got some
content managers with time on their hands to post news on a
regular basis...that was always one complaint I had about
.nu and when I launched joyrex.com, I made sure news was
fresh and up-to-date, no matter how trivial it may seem.

Ok, enough about watmm...let's move on! :)

I think it isn't getting updated very much right now due to
the work on xltronic. Plus, why post news everyone already
knows?

i signed up yesterday to check things out!

i visited joyrex.com dec/jan and found it to be kinda
difficult to navigate so i never signed up. i'll check
things out more as i have time. prolly won't be a regular
over there cos i don't have the time. the whole BoC Video
contest sounds intriguing, i'll be looking forward to that!
=0)

keep up the good work joyrex!

Not everyone knows everything...

.nu has never been regularly updated with news...Phob just
didn't have the time or inclination to do so I guess.

slight digression:

Did anyone else get this email from LO Recordings...I bought
a sampler CD from em after someone here recommended it
(jonesy) and then applied for the free CD mentioned in the
case....

but a few weeks later this came...

"1. Apology

For all of you who have replied to our Lo and Behold CD
offer and have not received a Cd, our apologies and here's
why:
Foolishly we set up the offer without provision for all the
addresses going into a database, so we ended up with over a
thousand emailed addresses that we were going to have to
hand write onto envelopes. We made a start but realised it
was madness in its purest form to continue.
We also realised that a lot of the emails had come from
people who had never even bought the Lo and Behold Cd but
had come via a Squarepusher site - Get Exclusive
Squarepusher Tracks FREE! Posted by Joyrex on Tuesday, June
25 2002 Ultraviolence has found that Lo Recordings is
offering a sampler CD called Lo ... watmm.com/ - 14k -.

So what we need for you to do now is ....reply
to...xxxxxxx"...

So I guess you need to be careful what news get
posted...this was talked about here and how the offer only
applied if you bought the first LO Sampler CD...

Did they get in contact with you about this, Joy?...

yes, they did, and I posted a retraction/explanation about
it shortly thereafter - and your pathetic attempt to
embarrass me is just that - pathetic. I really thought you
were above such things :)

This was due to a misunderstanding from the person who
directed me to the Lo Recordings site - I checked out the
site, and it wasn't obvious to me that you had to own the
previous sampler CD. Lo was really nice about it, and asked
me to post a correction, which I did promptly.
