Richard Nixon was/had: 1. An impressive civil rights record 2. Foreign Policy skills second to none 3. A long history of serving the people 4. The ability to articulate his thoughts in an intelligent manner - oh yes, he also was morally suspect b/c of the Watergate affair. He got caught. Dubya Bush has 1. A sketchy foreign policy record. 2. A short history of serving the people. 3. An inability to articulate his thoughts. 4. Deep ties to the Oil Industry. 5. Doesn't have a clear mandate to lead the nation after that election mishap. - Dubya is an embarassment who's been boosted because of his handling of 9/11. He's proven himself good in times of crisis, I just question his ability to lead the nation in domestically (economic primarily) and abroad (Middle East, Iraq etc.) |
