How would you suggest I make a tune to go along with my beats? I don't want it to sound tacky, I want it to sound like aphex twin... how should I do it?

you need efx's or amping.....or buy the aural exciter c3 by Aphex (www.aphex.com)
if you want to make some snare rushes, you need some loop progz like recycle...to cut instruments or what you want out.....wavelab do it, too. so you can cut milisecond tunes from a snare and loop them. recycle caan make midi files etc to change the instruments etc, and play the same rhythm with others samples, your samples, whatever

Don't MAKE it sound like Apx, make it sound like you? (I don't know if thats a good thing or not!)
You can use anything to make a tune if you have enough patience, from anything from a toilet flushing to a piano or maybe a combination of the two!

...or, buy a cheap keyboard and some dodgy guiter pedals. It works for me.

right, you can't copy a style like afx, []pusher or else, find your own way and use all things you need, yesterday i've recorded my meowing cat....stretched and reversed it, sounds weird.
