Yo folks,
What's this album like? Could you provide some sort of description, no matter how abstract? What are similar artists etc.?

Like drukqs, I've heard it but wasn't interested enough to give it much play since I'd rather hear other things. This is the distinguished schematic, phoenecia are even the label creators I think... it has schematic intricacy/detail/depth, practically a linear tone throughout all the sounds though as I recall/no melody. I need to listen to it again. (that's what I did recently with drukqs and still wasn't very impressed- imaginary fantasy makes better stuff/melodies with even more minimalism. some of rich's previous output has been absolutely supoib though.)

OMG. you haven't heard anything by these two unless you've heard their 96 LP under the Soul Oddity alias entitled 'Tone Capsule'. Who else thinks that THAT is one of the most amazing electronic albums of all time? And who can name something that sounds even remotely like it? Tripped out, squishy, arcadia electro-alien funk that will never go stale. Eat it up! It's on Astralwerks.

I havn't heard that but i've heard randa roomet, and so far think it's better than brownout... even though it's simpler/more macroscopic and digital. It makes complexity in a more organized way than squarepusher's random drum pasting, more with chaotic but definate and changing loops. (like black dog bytes sorta)

yes siree bob, Brownout is one of my fave records ever..........its hard to describe except expect organic, twisted beats without a hi-hat in site..
..i've mixed this with Squarepusher, Autechre, kid606 and RDJ and all my other faves...it's the best non-rephlex /warp braindance i've heard and its from the US of A!!!.............
You like Oval, >[], Devine, AFX, authechre....you'll fucking LOVE phonecia!
