I've got a question for you folks who record to minidisc. I recently got one so I could easily record my knob twiddlings from the comfort of anywhere I happen to be. I got a portable Sony MZR-700DPC.
When I record from the analog outs of one of my synths or drum machines, the sound is just fine, when I record from my computer to the MD recorder, the sound quality is shit, sounds like a 112kbps MP3 or something. To record from the computer, I'm using that Digital Audio USB interface that comes with the Sony recorders.
I believe I read somewhere that this thing automatically handled all the resampling smoothly. Sounds like it doesn't though. Anyone with a Sony MD deck using the digital audio thingy on either a Mac or PC? If so, how's your sound?
It would be nice to get this working smoothly as I tend to master and EQ my tracks on the computer.
