Looking for a certain Come to Daddy Mix..

violet on 2001-08-08 21:21 [#00020483]

I heard a great mix of Come to Daddy quite awhile ago..it's
been in my head all day and I can't shake it. In listening
to the mixes on the EP, it doesn't appear to be any of
those.

This one starts out with a very catchy keyboard/synth loop
and then lyrics are basically spoken over them before the
chorus comes in..most of the mixes on the EP are pretty
grungy, this mix is very clean and the vocals are really
great.

I can't seem to find this mix..can anyone help me out with
which one it is and where I might be able to find it?

Thanks

Violet..

Not really, it could be a number of things, probably just a
hoax, someone trying to pass it up as Aphex Twin, but its
really not.

What point would there be in a "hoax" of a remixed song?

A friend had this mix and they got it from a well respected
DJ..I'm fairly sure the DJ didn't create the mix. But
thanks anyway.

Doesn't sound like the "help Aphex Twin" mini Cd remixes,
made in Northern England! They are even more fukd than the
original! - Trace the source of this and torture them,
until they tell you!

There are many reasons why there are hoax remixes..... why
do you think there are so many in the first place. People
just make some song, and put it out on the internet as Aphex
Twin or something to get recognition, Richrad D. James did
not do that song, otherwise it would be a known fact.

No one said the remix was by Aphex. So there's no question
of a "hoax".

Thanks for all the responses I was able to find what I was
looking for..seems someone either my friend (most likely) or
the DJ had mislabled the track, the chorus is "baby, come to
daddy.." but it's not Aphex Twin it's Nitzer Ebb's
Lightning Man, but also a remix (and an extremely good one
in my opinion).

Lightning Man came out about seven years before Come to
Daddy, so I'm not sure how the names got crossed.

I still think it's lame to suggest that there would be
someone out there trying to pass themselves off as another
band to get recognition for themselves..um..if they're
pretending they're another band how do they get any
recognition?

And as far as I know covers and remixes are tributes to the
original artists, not fraud and most people who make a great
remix like to give themselves credit for it.
