I have this album by DJ Krush and Toshinori Kondo called
KI-Oku and its pretty damn cool.
Can anyone suggest some good music in this style?

Does Cinematic Orchestra on Ninja Tune count?
It's kinda jazzy.

thievery corporation maybe
not the same beats krush does, but he went kindof soft on
ki-oku as well
dj spooky on some albums could sound alike ki-oku

yeah i've heard them, have yet to buy an album but they seem
pretty good.
and tolstoyed is right, Krush went soft and less gritty on
Ki-Oku, its just very cinematic and i like it a lot.

quite coincidental this is mentioned. i just wrote an
improvisational song on my piano that suits this category.

i wouldn't say ki-oku is ambient... but it's nice.

i love ki-oku! glad to see it has some fans on this board.
it's true, this album is a departure from krush's other
albums which are usually much grittier and hip-hop
influenced. his latest album, zen, has a couple tracks in
the mood of ki-oku. otherwise, check out dj cam, dj food,
and cinematic orchestra!!

Jazzanova, Truby Trio etc or the Compost label is nearly
always a safe bet.

that stuff is def jazzy, but i wouldn't say it's nearly as
mello as that dj krush disc.

Granted, its not as mellow, though Alle Der Kosmonauten
ain't too far away.

To be honest I haven't heard anything like Ki-Oku. I only
got it about two weeks ago but its class.
