King of IDM

Now when I say IDM i really do mean Intelligent 'DANCE'
Music. So this kinda excludes Autechre because a lot of
their songs are not danceable (or at least you would look
like a total fool dancing to it).

Mike P. is the King in my opinion. Just listen to Tango N
Vectif and tell me you would not like to own that shit on
Vinyl and play it in a club.

In Pine Effect has tons of great dance tunes as does Salsa
w/ Mesquite.

And lets not forget about "the Hwicci Song" from Royal
Astronomy.

Mike is just talented all around and his tracks just make me
stand up and move.

Long live the king.

i hate the term "IDM"

i can "dance" to autechre. it's very subtle.

Yeah 'IDM' blows as a term.

If I'm going to dance it's going to be to Hip Hop, Jungle,
Reggae or something that's made for the dancefloor. IDM
clearly is not.

when i listen to lunatic harness it just sounds like
straight drum 'n' bass to me. i mean it's the most solid dnb
i listen to (up there w/ photek's classics) but when i think
of idm i think of the rdj album as the definitive album in
the genre.

u know what, aphex's come to daddy's creation seems to be
inspired by dancing, the songs make you feel like getting
jiggy with it all over. like one of the RDJ album remixes
totally positions the drums in the silliest bodily movement
expressions possible. I've also envisioned a weird metal
buddahish elephant dancing to cylob's 1st trak on lobster
traks. I think only the most retarded dances should be
allowed for idm, though I don't dance. Or only smurfs and
squirrels and elves should dance to it. Aphex makes such
cute music, it's pure abstract comedy. This is pure
unconventional comedy, everything he does is so damn funny.
autechre arent' funny though.

Aphex is the king of music in general (IMO)

µ-ziq is the king of IDM (although the term IDM is lame,
its an appropriate category to place such music)

Autechre is stuff that requires active listening.
