Is there anyone here into beatboxin? Im practising it for a few months now and I can do some cool rhythms with basslines or melodies.. The only problem is I can't make fat snares, mine sound real shitty... Anyone knows how I can make those 'Razhelish' ones?

have you heard or seen KillaKella, he is top notch, and i reckon if you try and find his site he will have at least some links or somethin for you.
He is from The Rock Steady Crew!!! (my first ever peice of vynil was Hey, You the rock steady crew back in,,, ooooh fuck knows)
but i saw him at Sonar and he was easily the biggest highlight.
i'll see if i can find a link

Ive been doing some beatboxin with my freinds for about 3 years now. We can get some fat shit down sometimes, when the vibe is the same, and all there. Its cool.

yeah I heard KillaKella is pretty tight.. But i've never seen him perform. Saïan Supa Crew was @ Drum Rhythm here in Amsterdam and they had some very cool beatboxers, even better then Rahzel, check them out..
If you like those oldschool guys like Biz Markie, Doug E Fresh & Fat Boys you should go to this site: http://thebox2.free.fr/beatbox.html
Anyway, can anyone answer my question? How do you make cool snare sounds?

I usually do a 'psh' sound or a 'psha' sound... it sounds kinda like a bass drum and a snare at the same time.

Earface: no. Vibe is a real, correct word or term for that. I guess vibe could be used for "ravers" or something. But you know what I meant.

Is beatboxin just making drum noises with your mouth or is there actually specific way of doing it? I make IDM or drum n bass sound rhythms with my mouth, and annoy/scare the hell out of people at school. I was quietly copying Pen Expers by Ae one day when I was bored and this guy smiled and said "what the hell are those noises you keep making?"

yes its just making up beats with your mouth. The best is when you have a few people all do it together and make some crazy songs.

Ok... I'll put some beatboxin stuff on my zebox site (zebox.com/artists/plegz.html)
Be warned though, my style of beatboxing is more idm/jungle than hiphop sorta thing...

Hey Rob, please do that, I've been into Drum n Bass beatboxing for a while, I'm not that good, but I would Definately like to hear someone else's stuff.
You are my only hope, as there is no real IDM scene in the U.S.
