i can't think of an instance when anyone ever mentioned
tweaker (aka chris vrenna, formerly of nin) on this board. i
think his debut album is really good (and for the
electronica snobs, it's idm). i'm not huge on the vocals
(provided by people like david sylvian and the singer from
shudder to think) but the tracks themselves are hotness.
check out the official web site, he's very generous with
full mp3 downloads:

do a search and u'll find that i already beat you to it :).

I just recently submitted a remix to his contest. And know
him through only 2 degrees of seperation (counting myself).

anyways, expirmental has never beeen in the mainstream
spotlight before vrenna. My hat goes off to him.

you had to do "microsize boy" right? i like that song but
it'd be cool if he let you remix other tracks. how do you
know him? he seems really cool.

back when i obsessed over making music, i met a Justin
Lassen (Digital Dirt Heads), and we did some collabs. he
then moved to new york, while my life fell apart repetedly,
and caused my music to halt. He kept with his producing, and
met up with garbage, whom butch vig then introduced him to
vrenna.

Justin e-mails me perodically, with larfs asking me to move
to NY, and start anew. But I have to many commintments here
in seattle.

Justin, i think, is remixing "take me alive," for the
upcoming DVD.

I had downloaded the samples for that contest, but I didn't
really like the them, so I didn't do a remix. I'll check out
that Tweaker, though.

i bought his album the day it was released. being a huge
nin fan, i just had to try his album, and i already knew
that he was going in a more experimental-idm path (i think
he mentioned autechre in some interview). although his
album is good, i rarely play it anymore. got somewhat tired
of it...

but like someone said before me in this thread, he's
bringing idm to the masses (not that it's made that much of
an impact...).

Tweaker is good. I like Full Cup of Coffee and Empty Sheet
of Paper.

The vocal tracks are good too, but it takes a while to get
used to them.

the guitar is excellent. I didnt' knwo that vrenna could
play. did he hire someone to play those riffs? the overall
programming is decent too, nice sharp ending.

yea isn't it great? vrenna is a multi-instrumentalist, i bet
he played the guitar lick himself.
