T-V-NME on 2001-08-17 09:54 [#00022598]

yo Tinnie .. I liked your choice of Aceyalone, he is pretty
good. Kool Keith is decent though.

And to =|R3FL3X|= with the "gross" comment about Tinnie's
selection. I really don't care who you like, maybe Mc
Navigator is good, I've personally never heard of him.
Also, I do like some of the rasta rappers, if they have good
beats too that is. But how can you say stuff like Aceyalone
is just "gross"; it just comes off as being ignorant and
stubborn to me. I don't care much for the others on
Tinnie's list, spare maybe Kool Keith, but I get the
impression you've never even heard of, or even further,
listened to Aceyalone whatsoever. And please don't come
back and say "yea I heard of him, I listened to a track and
thought it was shit" or some crap like that, that just to
say it. I don't know how people judge music without hearing
what the hell they are talking about. Aceyalone is
respected because he's good and he hasn't turned all
commercial. He creates hip-hop for hip-hop not for some
crap mountain dew commercial or to make as much $ as
possible. And like any artist, there are critics and people
that will always dislike their style. I'm sure you feel the
same way about a lot of musicians as any normal person
would. But if you really appreciate hip-hop in its true and
freshest form, how can you go and ignore the likes of
Acyealone even, an extraordinary MC with which many will
agree, and trash them without even taking the time to check
out their works to support your "gross" comment at least.
Just because an artist's name doesn't sound familiar to you
or you haven't even heard the music, more specificially that
of Acyealone, I guess you feel that's an opportunity for you
to just write it off as nothing but crap, because they can't
possibly be better than your precious Mc Navigator. Just
seems like that's the case to me right now. Anyways think
about what you say, please.

That's all, take what I said out of context [because I know
you probably will].. it doesn't matter anymore. Just
getting that off my chest.

peace in the middle east.

T-V-NME on 2001-08-17 10:11 [#00022612]

hey =|R3FL3X|=..
it just didn't seem like a sarcastic comment to me, whatever
it was. and i was trying to make a point not just about
what you said (or now claim you didnt really mean), but
basically the whole deal with people judging an entire
artist simply by hearing their name or a single track, etc.
and instantly calling it crap. It's really unfair.. if
you've never heard of the musician than you really shouldn't
speak.
i like being blunt, "d00d".

"it's not actually bad rap, i just don't feel it.. there,
i've said it"

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-17 10:39 [#00022619]

T-V-NME: except you keep being a sarcastic arse I think. Why
is this. And since when do I judge something by the name?
