Just wondering how rare the 1st edition (white cover)
Gescom MINIDISC is. I heard that only 488 copies were made.
Is this correct?

It's not *very* rare. There was a limited number of copies,
but you could still find it easily in shops new for quite a
few years (at least you could in the UK). Now there's the
re-issue which makes the original less sought after. Plus
it's not their best release so it's not so popular. It's
just a bit rare really. Popular with collectors I guess.
