i just got back from a local h show, and listen to me. if
you want to rock, go see them. if you ever have a chance to
see them, TAKE IT. it's fucking rowdy. i feel awesome. they
got shut down for saying fuck too much, but they only shut
down the main speakers, so their roadie/friends turned their
monitors towards the crowd and kept playing. it was awesome

Speaking of Local H, here's an auction on eBay to bid on a
private concert by them. You can have it in your living
room if you want!

i used to love local h, i thought their 2nd and 3rd albums
were amazing. not a fan of their 1st or latest tho, too
bland.

dude, the first album is fucking great! i didn't like it at
first, but as i kept listening to it, it got better and
better. i haven't heard the new one, really. just some of
the tracks live, but they were pretty good.

Someone wanna enlighten me on this band? Music style, good
album?

they're just rock. no other way to put it. back in the day
they toured with everclear, but everclear kicked them off
the tour because they wore the crowd out.

i'd suggest either as good as dead or pack up the cats to
start with

btw, Here Comes the Zoo, there new CD, is just the same.
Pure rock. No appologies, no bullshit, just energetic
rock.

Yeah, I was gunna post about the ebay auction, I was gunna
get together with other H fans to try and get them in the
Bay Area, but $9,000+ is steep.

Anyway, for more info www.localh.com

damn dude, you fucked it up. it's all right, oh yeah. the
show was fucking great though. i made a sign that says
"LOCAL H MAKES MY NIPPLES HARD" but it was small, but scott
still saw it, he was squinting and then he looked at me real
wierd.

Chicago's very own..

Are they still a two man band?

For those who aren't familiar with them, you might remember
some years back they had a couple of hits "As good as dead"
and "Eddie Vedder"

"If I were Eddie Vedder would you like me any better?" --one
of the best lyrics ever written.

offline steve from chicago on 2002-07-21 18:41 [#00318595]

Err, not "As good as dead" I mean "Bound for the floor", the
former was the album title.

I was actually quoting "Son of Cha" from HCTZ :-)

"Creeping up on middle age,
Chasing down the latest craze,
Oh Yeah, All right!"

either way, great to see a Local fan on the board, would
that they come to the Bay Area, or even the left coast at
some point.

You're lucky, they rock Chicago all the time

Steve, Joe left, but Scott got Brian St. Clair from
TripleFastAction.

He rocks the set nice hard and steady.

btw, for anyone wondering, Scott (the guy who is my avatar)
uses a really unique quitar. The third pickup is actually a
bass pickup, so he is effectivly playing the bass and lead
guitar at the same time.

For live shows they oft have a second guitarist though.
It's a fine set up if you ask me

offline roygbivcore from Joyrex.com, of course! on 2002-07-21 19:00 [#00318615]
Points: 22557 Status: Lurker

it's actually a tad more complicated than that...
he's got the bass pick up placed so that it only picks up
the first two strings. then he has two out puts on his
guitar, one goes to his bass amp, one to the guitar amp.
then he has two pedals, they basicall cut off sound, so if
he has a part with only bass, he can cut the guitar out, and
vise versa

i saw local h live end of last year on the six days to
sunday tour only $6 it was well worth it. ive got their 4
cds and i think their 1st cd is worst of them though it is
pretty decent. the new 1 is very cool though.

nothing from them, it was hard to find out even what band he
was now in, so they seem pretty unknown or slow to move.

oh, and will some more kids please buy and enjoy Here Comes
the Zoo, it's really quite good.

well, I dont know much about them, nor have I ever heard
their music, but judging by the guitar/bass hybrid and the
fact that they were too hard for those pussies in everclear
makes me like them anyway. :)

it's "Pack up the Cats......" :p

and yeah, that was a critically acclaimed album even (which
means its great!) but their label fell apart right when they
released it, so it didn't push units. (which is the most
important thing!)

yeah, pick up Pack Up the Cats
