SHHH!!…GOES DIGITAL
The most adventurous music makers of today at the V&A
Friday Late View 31 August 2001 6.30pm-10.00pm
The hugely successful music event Shhh!!…Music for Museums at the V&A goes digital with live Dj sets and visuals by some of the UK's leading and groundbreaking electronic labels including Mute, Warp, Skam, Rephlex, Fat Cat and Touch for Friday Late View on 31 August.
Expect an evening of electro beats as the most adventurous music makers of today perform at the V&A's August Friday Late View. Dj sets include the brilliant modern composer of electronic music, sound and noise Richard D James (aka Aphex Twin) who has been hailed as "the one-man Kraftwerk".
Shhh!!…Goes Digital features leading British labels for visual and music collaborations with Touch presenting Hazard's live Scandinavian set and Jon Wozencroft 's visuals as a follow up to their acclaimed QEH South Bank performance. Brighton based Semiconductor will create a visual piece to accompany a live performance by plunderphonic queen Vicki Bennet (aka People Like Us).
Cassette Boy of 'cut and paste' insanity fame - infamous for re-arranging the words of TV presenters, S-Club 7 and Tony Blair - will be performing their 30 minute piece for the event. Those butchers of pop classics from Stockport V/VM who are known for using the work of people like Chas 'n Dave, Lionel Ritchie and Chris de Burgh will be performing a one-off set in London.
And don't miss Ovuca whose latest album 'Lazy Sunday' has been hailed as one of the best releases this year. He will be doing his innovative laptop set.
…/CONT. Shhh!!…Goes Digital is from 6.30-10pm and tickets are available from V&A Friday Late View Box Office: 020 7942 2211, Rough Trade and Smallfish - price £7.50 in advance.
