Xanatos: Clint Mansell did the shit for some movie
soundtracks. I realize immediatly after I posted that
comment, that you meant that and not games. geez. Sorry.
Heh. Yeah Pi is an amazing soundtrack.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-07-31 00:57 [#00018781]

Hmm...Video Games is a different story.

Well I grew up with old squaresoft games so I am very
partial to the music to final fantasy 2...when I was really
into it as a kid I knew the name of the Japanese guy who did
most of the squaresoft RPG music...I have a friend in
California who has a nice audio setup that he uses for
classical piano recording and not much for IDM, but he used
to record FF music into Cakewalk and do some awesome remixes
with his synthizer. If he will send me some of the midis I
will post them for you guys...if you are interested.

For Aronofsky's second film, Requiem For A Dream, Clint
Mansell and Kronos Quartet provided the soundtrack.

What was the last soundtrack Bernard Herrmann did? I can
remember being a big deal about it and it was a sort of good
film.

Milkman Dan on 2001-07-31 01:06 [#00018786]

It was Taxi Driver in 1976 and then he died.....

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-31 01:26 [#00018789]

Favorite Soundtracks:

Pi - for cool techno
Lost Highway - for creepy ass orchestrials and a weird mix
A Clockwork Orange - for cool moog symphonies
The Shining -- wish i could find this fucking soundtrack...

The soundtrack for the game "Castlevania: Symphony of the
Night" is pretty cool....

al>< from dublin on 2001-07-31 10:01 [#00018837]

games music?
Quake 3 allows ya to use yer own.
Got squarepushers 'Hardcore Obelisk' for a gothic map and
one of my own nuts break-beat tunes for a serious platform
map....talk about upping the ante!!!

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-31 10:06 [#00018840]

Yeah gaming music is awsome I think. Lots of thought has to
go into it, a lot! its really damn cool. It addes effect and
sets moods. How does quake3 allow you to use your own???

Iam a huge quake3 fan, and consider myself pretty good. ehe.

Aron?: there are many good soundtracks, many of the ones I
enjoy greatly, I had to actually listen to the soundtrack,
not hear some on the film, or game first. I just though some
would be interesting, and damnit - they are crazy.

To put up yer own .wav onto Quake 3 involves a little
cheating . Not sure exactly how, as thats my flat-mates
thing, but basically, the origional music is in a pkzip file
so you simply lash your pkzipped, name.wav(mono@ 220500khz),
where the origional one is, go to the command line and type
: '/music name' and yer sucking diesel!

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-31 11:51 [#00018853]

Wow hm.... that makes sense. i should try that out. I doubt
I could get anything cool in .wav format though!

Wizard MaC from Amersfoort on 2001-07-31 14:18 [#00018864]

OK old gameboy stuff:
WrestleMania-the song of Mr Perfect (this song has some kind
of universal feeling in it) and the song of Randy Savage (Oh
yeah, a weird one with a great bassline)
Yeah maybe I'm going to remix this shit
Oh and on my (sold long time ago) XT the soundtrack of a
weird & very cool game called Street. Very funny.
