i would consider this tom j's turning point in his music,
but w/ selection 16 he kinda went back to d&b

i'd like to be blown away by his newest one, like i have
with all his previous, i don't want to have to listen and
like it because of the name on it

It is the real stuff. I've got the first promo cd with a
funny Squarepusher statement on a seperate card square that
is about 16x16cm. You won't beleive what it says,
seriously...! I haven't got cd 2 yet so I don't know....

I'm not typing all that nonsense out....you'll see it soon,
someone willl scan it or something....you won't beleive it!
tease, tease.....seriously, it's too long for me to type out
and you need to see the whole thing to get the maximum
impact..

was it a copy of a hand written message?

No, its all type set with a laminated squarepusher sign over
the top, on the reverse is the lyrics to the song that
begins with 'f' I can't remember the names. It's a really
long statement saying basically why he does his music....you
have to read the whole thing, it's really funny in a fucked
up academic way.

so i'm listening to it now, thanks soulseek! but it isn't
really like his older stuff, it doesn't really have the same
mood he used to, it doesn't seem like him.

two of them are not that far removed from go plastic...the
joy division tracks is him trying something different and
the ambient ones are..ambient.

this is a funny thing: I have owned this album since it came
out, and ever since then i have called it "music is one
rotted note" to all my mates and they all go "wow! such a
cool name! cos, like, music is, kinda" and i looked at it
the other day and it said "music is rotted ONE note" wtf
like? good lp though...
