Im still deciding to go down the "download it and spoil the
surprise" road... or the "fork out hard earned money and
smile or cry with what i hear" road...

does this release sound like go plastic ? or is it some
jazzy waffle :-/

"just download it princo! it's worth it........"

Is that an order????

I'll probably give in after a few weeks... maybe days...
I mean, it'll probably kill me if I hear people talking
about it here, when I'm planning to wait till...(when is
it?) SEPTEMBER!!?! argh!

All I've heard so far is the "Love Will Tear Us Apart"
cover. Out of 5 I'd have to give it a 0. When doing a
cover or something I think it's customary to put some of
your own personality or style into it and in this cover I
really don't hear all that much of that being done. To me
it sounds like Mr. Pusher simply tried to recreate the
original as closely possible with the instruments and
samples he had near by. The song structure follows almost
exactly the same and it's not too hard to visualize it as
the original only with better production. If you'd like a
better cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart", I recommend Human
Drama's version.

offline Archrival on 2002-07-15 07:09 [#00309547]
Points: 4265 Status: Lurker

cd 2 live tracklisting:

1) conc 2 symmetriac
2) the exploding psychology
3) my red hot car
4) do you know squarepusher? (wap155)
5) the second live track that pabs posted (possibly a new
mix of dimotane co from feed me weird things)
6) boneville occident
7) go! spastic
8) greenways trajectory
9) my fucking sound
10) anstromm feck-4

This cd 2 is NOTHING special (if u got Go Plastic), download
the Frigid live set instead, its better sound quality and a
more hungry TJ. CD 2 is weak :(

rate it?

Kinda like judging a meal based on the smells from the

i got around the "shall i download and spoil the surprise"
complex by downloading the first 1 or 2 mins of each track.
Here's what i think! :

1) fucking excellent, even though we all had it last
december!! :-) 10/10

2) nice production. very dark. very silly. 5/10

3) hmp. strange 4/10

4) bassline is soooo shit! drums are excellent though 7/10

5) sounds a bit boring 3/10

6) sounds a bit boring 3/10

7) fucking execellent!!!! fucking excellent!!! squarepusher
should do more of these!!! im not being sarcastic!! that
beautiful ambient sound in the back is amazing!! this sounds
like it should have been on kid a / amnesic!!!

there you go, another average Squarepusher release i think,
90% shite and 10% genius like all his other stuff !!!

but the 10% genius is worth it!

1. Reasonably good but nothing mindblowing: 4/5

2. The first concrete evidence that Tom is going insane:
2/5

3. Really good. Lovin' it. 5/5

4. Too catchy to resist. 5/5

5. (No comment)

6. Interesting soundscape but not my thing. 3/5

7. The worst piece of shit I've listened to in the last 5
years. 0/5

So how long are all the tracks on disc one then? Only 7
songs... it seems so short, more like an EP... unless there
are some 10+ min tracks on there (if disc 2 really is a
live-recording, i'd consider that a bonus-disc... wouldn't
really view it as a double-album). I can't (and wouldn't
want to!) download it myself, so i was just curious.

-no its not

we've HEARD it
we've EATEN the fucking meal

it doesn't sound different cus u own it legitemitly

they only difference is the sound quality of the cd vs
mp3.... i dont think it'll make THAT much dif in how good we
think the music is

I love this release!
Its been on repeat for 24 hours haha!
Great headfuc...i mean headphone music!
It gets 5 out of 5 !
The only mediocre track is "Anstromn Feck" i think , just
regular old pusher drilling! the other tracks got more
inovating techniques!

my ratings...
disc1

1)7/9
2)3/9
3)4.5/9
4)7/9
5)3/9
6)4/9
7)3.5/9

disc 2 is great! decent tweaking on []pusher favs!

It now all depends on the price scheme for this release on
if i'll buy it. i got it in mp3...but only in 160 kps...if i
can't find it in 192...and they don't classifiy the cd as a
double LP (thus 20+ $$$)...id definatly buy it.

actually...i'd much pefer just donating to []pusher 20
bucks, and be all like "here, ur music is great...this is
all i can afford, but i'm sure it's a lot more than what you
get from me buying ur cd. :) )

tits: at the mo, there are 2 different encodes outthere...an
early 128kbs one, & a 160kbps one that's appeared more
recently...

I guess it just depends on who's doing the leaking...quite a
few people have the CD already so the leak could be coming
from anywhere really...
