I just bought a Phat boy V2 midi controller in a little
keyboard specialist place in London. I can't wait to get
home and fire up rebirth and fruity loops :)

Simsynth will sound soooo good with it!

Yep that's the one!

I prefer the look of the old silver one, but hey, it's the
functionality that counts. Now I have to get a midi
keyboard. It'll be so cool to use a keyboard with some
soundfonts loaded as a drumkit and then to mess with the
drums with the phat boy.

I've been looking at rebirth and think I'll assign a midi
channel on the phat boy to each soft synth and then a third
channel for distance, PFC etc.

Does anyone here have one (I remember someone saying they
got one off ebay), if so, any tips?

I considered getting a drehbank, but:
it's twice as expensive,
with the midi channel switch on the phat boy there are 16*12
knobs- more than I need,
the drehbank hasn't got card/plastic overlays.

you can get an external ReBirth unit (i think), which has
all the knobs on it. i only heard this, so i might have been
led up the garden path
