erm...two sides to every story.

I do think that the cop was out of order but it is very easy
for the media to paint a one sided story...and I don't get
the feeling this is another Rodney King...the police man was
reacting in anger to something, not hitting the lad just
because he was black.

I have been punched by a police officer...these things
happen.

definetly two sides to that story. The cop who hit the man
had just been assaulted by him when he tried to arrest him
after he fled from a robbery... they painted the picture
like this was an another inecent black man being brutallized
by police.... not true

Once they had him pinned on the hood of the car there was no
reason to punch him in the face. It doesnt matter what he
had done to the cops before they got control of him. Imagine
if he had shot one of the cops in the arm, would it be
alright for the cops to pin him and shoot him in the arm
AFTER getting him under control?

yes, it was wrong and the officer diserves to be punished,
what I said is it's not the hate crime they're making it
out, it's not just cause he was black, humans are a speciez
that tend to lose their tempers and comitte irrational acts
when they're attacked/threatened, it wasn't just because
he's black

Once again, I'm not condoning the cops actions, he was WRONG
and DISERVES prober repremand, I'm just pointing out the
incorrect picture the media is painting for people

Nah, I wasn't being serious. But I feel so sorry for this
police officer. What he did was wrong, but he is only
human...and you can't tell me that when you are hit you
maintain your composure in every instance. This officer has
been portraid as a racist which is, in all probability, not
true. Imagine the effect this will have on his family...not
to mention the fact his career is now over as whatever
happens he will be made a scapegoat of the situation.

I agree its unfortunate that he's being portrayed as racist.
Sure if someone jumped me I would fight back (and have) but
a cop in a position of power CANT fly off the handle like
that, human or no. In my eyes it is a blatant abuse of power
and there is no doubt in my mind that he should be severely
reprimanded.

from my experience, military (federal) cops seem more
rational than those in the city. of course, i've not been a
cop before.

then again, military cops must operate on federal standards
as civilian cops provide their own commission.

BEAUTIFUL LYRICS!!! Kinda like the Cop Killah Theme :)
Lovin it :)

Artist: Ill Bill
Song: How To Kill A Cop

* parody of Redman's "How to Roll a Blunt"

The year 2002 begins a new age for the cop killers,
knowhatI'msayin?
Check it out, check it out

[Verse One]
Check out this new Ill Bill gimmick that's splendid
Since you're down with other shit,/
let's see if you're down wit this/
It's about strictly tryin to kill a cop/
Once you get the hang of it, after you blast one, you steal
his glock/
First of all you need a fat bag of dust plus "the biscuit"/
Any local store sells the shit, friend,
Purchase a milli', not that bitch Millie Jackson silly
stunt/
I'm talkin about the nine millimeter gun/
Pick up the gat, scratch the serial numbers off/
No fingerprints, surgical ones are my gloves of choice/
All of these other cop killers be thinkin guns are toys/
And when these cats get caught, they snitch on all they
boys/
I kill a cop on a solo mission; without a pair of gloves/
Shot him in the face with a stolen biscuit
Then wiped my fingerprints off real careful
If you don't think you ready yet dog, just let the song
prepare you/

That's how you kill a cop (*repeat 6X*)
Let's all kill a cop, and get locked up, what

That's how you kill a cop -- peace to Necro
That's how you kill a cop -- peace to Necro
That's how you kill a cop (*repeat 4X*)
Let's all kill a cop, and get locked up

[Verse Two]
Yeahhhh! The second paragraph, might make you laugh/
When a cat try to kill a cop and catch a plunger in the
ass/
That's when you know you got to take the gun from him/
cause you bout to get snubbed next, and you hyped up, so
FUCK runnin/
And now the real fun begins son/
You kill these ten cops, the best part, you walk away with
ten guns/
Now you the one that's takin gats from pigs/
Imagine one gang, consistin of the Bloods, Crips and Latin
Kings/
That's when you start to realize what the police is/
Government funded gang-bangin thugs; that's what beast is/
They say I'm evil, when I'm the most righteous/
Run up in precincts with assault rifles/; kill police and
throw bibles/
Walked out the precinct leavin no survivors/
Half his decapitated wig splattered across the precinct
driveway/
The watts was stuffed up his body, jerk and gyrate/
Shoot him ten more times, then I merc off on the highway/

That's how you kill a cop (*repeat 6X*)
Let's all kill a cop, and get locked up, what

That's how you kill a cop (*repeat 6X*)
Let's all kill a cop, and get locked up

[Verse Three]
Yeahhhh! Last but not least, Ill Bill like to say peace
to all the cop killers, from the Tri-State to the Middle
East
And gimme some dust when I kick the bucket
Pistol or no pistol, when high I'm the wrong to be fucked
with
So everybody put they gun up in the air
Cock it back and lick a shot like you just don't care
SO - PUMP UP THE VOLUME!! Screamin out, "Fuck cops!"
I'm out - peace to my pops, I'm off to the dust spots

He he, the police just came to my Scout troop to give the
kids a talk about drugs. I was shocked by not only their
ignorance of even the most basic facts about even common
drugs, but by the way they tried to get the kids to confess
to having tried various drugs.

ive been hit by the police, I called one a pig, while in
custody, i was already on my way to jail, and they were
making fun of the fact that i was going there, blah blah
something about being a supposed rich kid, which couldnt
have been so far from the truth at the time especially! but
they pushed me down, i had handcuffs on and leg shackles, as
you always do if your waiting to go from one place to
another in custody these days, and I fell hit my head, and
then one of them kicked me 2 times in the ribs. I didnt say
a damn word, probably only would have made it worse.

replaced him with..... of course the police wouldn't help

and since then, my tv and newspapers have stopped coming for

They started out by trying to engage the kids in a relaxed
sort of way, joking around trying to get them to drop their
guard. Without actually saying "don't worry, nothing you say
here is admissible" they tried their damndest to give that
impression. I bet they do these sort of talks so they can
make a mental note of the faces to search when they're out
on patrol...

They even eyed me (I'm a leader) with suspicion and said,
"you know a lot about this..." when I pointed out that the
popularity of pills in nightclubs was in part due to the
ease of smuggling them in- you can fit 20 pills in your
wallet no problem, try hiding 20 ready rolled joints on your
person. Their knowledge of legislation was shocking too, I
don't think they knew ghb had been made a class B drug and
they didn't know the state of play with ketamine either (and
confusing it with PCP judging by their description of people
under the influence).

i first learned about magic mushrooms in my scout troop
but it was a fellow scouter telling us about them, as part
of getting his 'law' or 'law enforcement' (or somehting like
that) badge

actually, he seemed way more knowledgable than a boyscout
should be...

In my experience, cops are usually pretty fucking
stupid/ignorant. They need to be dumb, so they'll do what
they're told without question and so they'll see situations
in black/white, and never the grey areas. It seems that most
smart people have absolutely no desire to become cops,
either. I agree it's terrible, but it shouldn't surprise you
all that much.

i try to avoid stereotyping groups (including the police)
based on one or two bad experiences.
but i have to admit that i've seen more than a few incidents
which damaged my faith in them.

the most terrifying one happened abroad though. i was in
france with my girlfriend+a few of her friends for france's
'festivale de la musique', when the entire city is turned
into a big party. every square has bands + djs performing..
the main square of lille had a huge stage put up. there was
a band playing on every street corner.. buskers in every
alleyway.. people with city centre flats were opening up
their windows, pushing their speakers up to them & dj-ing
out into the night.
needless to say there was a great party atmosphere. all
kinds of people were there, all ages, all races - there was
a really positive feel to it all. just wandering from street
to street absorbing what was going on.

anyway.. by 1am most of the familys left + the official
events were winding down. so we wandered out into a part of
town with loads of bars. now, this part of town has a large
arab population + notorious for being 'troubled' (for those
of you who don't know, racism in france is fairly
institutionalised.. i know, half my family lives there)..
there was a big soundsystem in the street, everybody was
drinking, dancing + having fun.

then a police car comes down the street. people get out of
the way to let it through.
theyre rolling along fairly slowly but no ones giving them
any hassle.
then the police car bumps into a parked car, smashing the
headlight. quite a few people find this funny. the crowd
starts laughing, and a few people point. no one threw
anything. no one (that i saw) made any offensive gestures.
one officer, opens the door.. looks at the damage hes done..
no one does anything threatening. people near the car are
just dancing. i was one of them. suddenly he dives back into
the car, he must have used the cb-radio.. because within
minutes, 15 squad cars (no word of a lie) turn up, and a
van. nothing happens for

offline acrid milk hall from United Kingdom on 2004-02-04 16:04 [#01060169]

a short while..
the atmosphere changes, everyone gets a bit edgy.
we're stood right by the first car to arrive + i decide it
might be a good idea to get back a bit. then the first
officer to arrive steps out, the doors of all the other cars
open. he pulls out his baton + i assure you he was grinning.
the the van doors slide open at the other end of the street
+ half a dozen officers with dogs jump out.
then there was panic in the crowd.. i felt physically sick
as i saw them rush the street, charging up.. hitting anyone
who wasnt quick enough to get out of the way.
i was right near the front, but managed to pull my
girlfriend back behind me. they passed by me. one guy near
me raised his hands above his head shouting 'please, i dont
know whats going on' - they hit him once in the stomach. he
went down. they hit him again, then ran on. one of our
friends was running away and was struck in the back. girls
were crying. everyone was in shock.
it was a peaceful crowd.
it was horrible.
they arrested no one.
they just charged the street. shit everyone up a bit.
trampled and beat a load of people + then drove off.
now, i know i cant vouch for the innocence of everyone in
that crowd. maybe a couple of people further away from me
were being a bit rough. maybe someone was smoking a spliff.
maybe someone had jeered at one of the officers. maybe
they'd had word of pickpockets operating. but did that
really justify the action they took?
shit happens??!
afterwards.. there was a guy stood alone in the street
shouting after them: "who's going to protect us from you?"
this was an unacceptable abuse of power in my opinion. and
if i hadnt had a bad feeling about what was going to happen
when i saw the squad cars turn up, it could have been a lot
worse for my friends and i.

i hope i never have to witness/be a part of something like
that again.

He probably didn't get to become a police officer by doing a
lot of personal drug experimentation. These Cops probably
actually believe all the rot they try to teach the kids.

We used to skateboard in Red Square, a large bricked area at
the University of Washington. It is illegal to skateboard
there. ON one occasion, the cops showed up, surrounding the
area, and all the skateboarders started to leave. One
Skateboarder who was trying to leave the area rode near a
cop. The officer tackled him off of his board. pinned him
to the brick ground and hand-cuffed him, pressing a knee
into his back and holding his face to the brick. when a
friend asked "what are you doing to my friend?" the cop
replied, "just move on, nothing for you to see here."
