its been extremely HOT this past week (the last couple of days have been much cooler and nicer)
its also been very humid... so that combined with the heat makes it feel all sofocating and sticky and disgusting...
this, of course, means smog! mmmmm... feel that smog in ur lungs... yum!
to make things MUCH, MUCH worse.... the fucking GARBAGE WORKERS have been on STRIKE!!!!! so parts of downtown smell like shit... people are dumping garbage in parks and such cus they're too stupid and lazy to make the trip to one of the city's designated drop-off centres!
THEN, 2 days ago, the city was blanketed in a fucking layer of SMOKE!!
it was weird.... sort of like it was foggy... but its not fog
the sky was just GREY, and you could actually see it if u looked at far away buildings...
the was so dim... like no more than a lightbulb.. it was freaky, we were expecting it to start raining ashes any minute!
later in the evening the sun became so dull before it went down that you could look right at it and see its shape really clearly... just a perfect dull orange circle hanging in the grey sky....
errie as hell! of course, i tried not to stare at it, im not an idiot.... but it was actually really hard NOT to look, cus it wasn't bright at all!
freaky!
this smoke was coming all the way from forest fires burning in QUEBEC!!!!!
thats like 100s of KMs away!
did anyone else in an eastern canadian/ northeastern american city experience this appocolyptic weather behavior!??!

Yeah, in Upstate NY it's been similar, but not quite as smoggy. Still very grey and dreary, though.. (and hot as hell last week!!)

Yeah yesterday I was having lunch with some lady friends and we came out of the restaurant and the sky was yellow. It was the middle of the afternoon and the whole sky was urine stained.

if they find that the garbage build-up is becoming a health hazard, then the government can pass legislation to force the unionn back to work
it looks like its going to come to that
